Does NSFAS Fund NATED Courses?
If you’re studying N4, N5 or N6 at a TVET college, you may be wondering whether NSFAS will cover your NATED course.
The simple answer: NSFAS may fund NATED courses, also known as Report 191 programmes, if they are offered at a public TVET college and meet NSFAS funding rules.
But funding is not automatic.
Your course must be approved, you must qualify, and your TVET college must submit the correct registration details to NSFAS.
This is why some students are accepted at college but still wait for funding or allowances. It may be linked to registration confirmation, academic data, allowance processing, or even a gap investigation.
Before you panic, check:
your myNSFAS status
your college registration
whether your course is approved
whether your financial aid office submitted your details
whether your allowance claim is active
NATED students should not guess. Ask your college financial aid office what is showing on their system.
