The 5 Horrendous Phases of Being HANGRY
It’s t-minus 41 days until the much-anticipated release date of the Mocking Jay Part 2.  In celebration of momentous day, Tapingo has created the “Hangry Games.” Every week, tributes are awarded the opportunity to participate in a series of challenges, and of course, there’s a prize!
If you escaped the reaping, you can still get psyched up with this very scientific article about the 5 phases of Hanger:
Stage 1: A grumbling tummy - this is literally the sound your stomach makes as it tries to claw its way out of your body to punch you in the face for not getting it food.
Stage 2: Serious dizziness. You’re not being dramatic - you’ve just failed to heed the warning signs in Stage 1. This is a text book reaction to lack of foods wherein your brain attempts to keep functioning at full capacity, but fails miserably as thoughts of food, glorious food, stage a hostile take over of your motor skills.
Stage 3: General distractedness - At this point, your stomach has turned on you and your brain’s front lines have been breached (read: you do not have the high ground.) You remain entrenched in this losing battle with the strength of your hanger intensifying with each passing moment. Then the last of your mental reserves begin to falter and you find yourself engrossed in a series of thoughts that all started with, “I wonder why...”Â
Stage 4: Temper tantrums. You put up a good fight, but your attempts were futile. Studies show that patients who endure defeat in Stage 3 are rendered infantile, incorrigible, and irritated.
In the interim period between the final two stages, an additional independent variable can be introduced to the situation in the hopes of saving the subject. In the cases where this intervention has proven effective, Stage 5 subjects have been known to recover.Â
On the other hand, without intervention, Stage 5 looks more like this:Â
10 Thoughts Every [non-Tapingo] Student has on Monday Morning
Mornings are hard.
1) WHY, GOD, WHY?!
2) I’m STARVING
3) Where are my pants?
4) Found pants; gotta get to class
5) Class can wait. Need food right meow.Â
6) These lines tho.
7) ugh, but that looks so good!
8) Fine. I’ll Wait.
9) Awesome, it’s taking forever. By the time I get my food, I’ll be 1000 years old.
10) Food! I’m late, but at least I’ll be fed!...This is not what I ordered.
We can’t help you find your pants, but Tapingo makes Monday feel like Funday.
#WaitLess #LiveMore
The Struggle Doesn’t Have to be Real.
Have you ever wondered how before cell phones - if you were supposed to meet someone and had to cancel last minute, how you would tell them? Would they just wait around for hours, assume you’d died, and go about their day?
I, for one, am thankful that we’ve progressed passed the Dark Ages. And if my phone seems to be an extension of my hand, then so be it!Â
Here at TapingoHQ, we develop features that make sense for today’s lifestyle. Meaning: with the ultimate convenience, Tapingo gets you what you want - when, where, and how you want it - using only one hand.
This leaves your other hand free for the kinds of multitasking activities that really matter.
Like saying what’s up to your friends at Coachella:
Taking selfies:
Playing with your cat:
And dancing:
So the next time you find yourself having to use both hands to do something, take a long look in the mirror and like, stop trying so hard.Â
Top 5 reasons to become a Tapingo Courier
You may have heard from BuzzFeed, USA Today, Daily Mail, Cosmo, EliteDaily, or like abc news -Â
               Tapingo Delivers Chipotle!Â
We asked our delivery team what they loved about being a Tapingo Courier, and here’s what we’ve got:
1) Tapingo Couriers make people happyÂ
 2) Tapingo Couriers have a job that fits their schedule
3) Tapingo Couriers get some exercise! Couriers make deliveries on foot, bicycle, skateboard, pogo stick, hover craft, you name it!Â
4) Tapingo Couriers make monayyy
5) Tapingo Couriers meet new people... IRL
If these sound legit to you, apply to be a Tapingo Courier! tapingo.com/jobs/deliveryÂ
We’re looking for couriers at Valdosta, Oklahoma, Pittsburgh, Southern California, Ohio State University, Santa Clara University, University of Maryland, Trinity College, Holy Cross, Case Western
Hungry? Just yell C-H-I-P-O-T-L-E!
OK, so yelling probably won’t get you anything.
But get this. Starting RIGHT NOW, Tapingo is delivering Chipotle. Yes, you got that right. Your belly. Tapingo. Chipotle. Done.
We couldn’t be more psyched. There’s a reason that Chipotle is so popular on campus: it’s fresh, it’s real, and it doesn’t mess around. Except when you miss your mouth with the guac. No judgement.
Anyway, you probably want to know when you can get your hands on a burrito of your very own. Check out www.tapingo.com/chipotle to see if we’re already delivering on-demand sour cream at your campus. If we’re not now, we soon will be.
Because we care.

Back to School Features on FLEEK
Hey Tapingoers!Â
We’re stoked for back to school, and earlier this week, we talked to TechCrunch (#HumbleBrag) about 3 new features we’ve added to make sure you get what you want, when, how and WHERE you want it!
First off, we’ve got Tapingo Delivers! Staffed entirely by students, this new feature means you can get on and off-campus food delivered. The best part? You can still use campus meal dollars to pay for the food!
Then we’ve got  Quick Pick - so if you want something that take zero time to prepare, the restaurant will know and get your order ready ASAP.
Because should you have to wait for the person in front of you to order multiple, needlessly complicated drinks?
And finally, there’s Scheduled Ordering so you can place an order in advance, pick it up at a certain time, and get on with your life!
7 Times the Struggle Was Real: Summer Can Suck Because No Tapingo
As summer comes to a close and students reflect on the lessons learned over the past few months, we’ve seen a flurry of news stories detailing the horrors of internships. Not to add insult to injury, but this got us thinking about how much better interning could be if people only used Tapingo.
7:45 am - wishing you had a better memory while trying to scribble down the complicated coffee orders for like a thousand people
8:20 am - waiting in line to place said complicated orders and when you’ve finished, having the barista look at you like:
8:25 am - anxiously waiting for the coffees to be ready
8:44 am - being told that this ISN’T SOY and then asked if you have a brain
8:47 am - having to go back and repeat this process, while attempting to locate your will to live
11:35 am - already exhausted, nervously awaiting a cargo load of lunch demands
12:13 pm - physically carrying lunch orders back to the office, and wondering how you’re ever going to make it through the rest of the day
If you’d had Tapingo, you could have entered customized orders directly into the app:
Then either bypassed the line for pick up:
Or had it delivered like it ain’t no thang!
Living More the Tapingo Way: Offsite Adventures
If all work and no play makes jack a dull boy, then jack should #livemore!
This summer, we’ve been working hard to bring Tapingo to all students. And in the interest of not becoming dull, Team Tapingo dedicated the beginning of last week to #livemore.
Day 1
8:00 am: Our adventure started Monday morning with a team breakfast
9:30 am: Once everyone was fed and watered, we embarked on a mysterious journey to the Pema Osel Ling Retreat
2:00pm-5:00pm: Our executive team revealed top secret business things!
5:00pm-?: Shenanigans + campfire + s’mores!
Day 2
Some ungodly hour-breakfast time: Day 2 of the Tapingo adventure began by facing the consequences of the night before. Sometime during the evening’s festivities, Tapingo’s head of payments challenged one of the growth managers to a swimming race.
#yoonytunes4LyFe
The growth manager in question just happens to be six-time medalist (three golds, three silvers) at the World University Games and two-time silver medalist at the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships, Chad La Tourette.
#hideyokidshideyowife
Then we practiced yoga outside
#tighthammies
10:00am-noon: Tapingo Olympics
The next two hours were a series of quests that challenged our communication skills, engineering acumen, teamwork, core strength, ability to look death in the eye and laugh, and ... forearm strength?Â
In teams of five, we went to war with Pirate Ball. The crawling, blind-folded team members act as cannons, while their standing counterparts protect and direct them. Test: Communication Skills
Next, we were tasked with constructing the tallest structure known to man, ever, of all time...made entirely of spaghetti and marshmallows. Test: Engineering Acumen
Have you ever tried team skiing? It’s not as easy as Udi, Leanne, Alexis, and Carter make it look. Test: Teamwork
“Build a raft,” they said. “Paddle to the other side,” they said. Test: Core Strength
Wikipedia defines “Zorbing” as the recreation or sport of rolling downhill inside an orb, generally made of transparent plastic. We took it one step farther: Zorbing+Soccer=ZO-ccer...or SO-bbing Test: Look Death in the Eye and LAUGH
The instructions for the last quest were as follows: Balance on a skateboard and propel yourself forward using toilet plungers. Test: Forearm Strength.
We gave it our all, but in the end, one team emerged victorious
2:00pm-4:00pm:Â Then we drowned our second place sorrows at Soquel Vineyard
It was an awesome trip and a great way to get learn more about your work family
Why Waiting In Line is Simply the WORST
Hey Tapingoers,
We’ve been doing a ton of research on the “psychology of waiting” (aka why standing in line sucks), and we wanted to share our newfound knowledge.
Imagine yourself getting out of a three-hour lecture. You’re starving, snoozy, and definitely cranky. You want to devour a good meal, but lo and behold, there’s a massive line preventing you getting yours.
Alas, you join the back of that hellish line because you’re famished. Everything you experience in the next 20–30 mins has been documented by scientists:
Stress
Anxiety
Boredom
Frustration
Irritability
Not to mention the very real physical consequences:
Slouching
Varicose veins!
Joint compression
Needing to pee
Postural muscle fatigue
Learning this served to strengthen our resolve to save everyone’s posture, bladder, and legs!
Tapingo to the rescue! #nowaiting
Hey Tapingoers!
We’re mid-way through summer, and we hope you are having a blast!
If you’ve ever had a friend visit from a non-Tapingo university, you’ll know how jealous they can get of your line-skipping, time-saving, stomach-satisfying powers. And while we know that it’s kind of nice to be the envy of your friends, wouldn’t the world be a better place we all had Tapingo?
Right now, our boys in yellow are on their grind at the National Association of College & University Food Services, an annual conference dedicated to supporting and promoting excellence in collegiate dining.
Well, what’s more excellent than Tapingo?
Wish us luck and help us spread the good word!

5 Things We Can Crossing Off the Tapingo Summer Bucket List #LiveMore
Here at Tapingo HQ, we’re working hard to make sure we start the school year off with new (and kinda secret) features. So to make sure we’re still gettin’ our #livemore on, we’ve been working on crossing off the first 5 things on the Tapingo Summer Bucket List:
Enjoy the Perfect Summer Drink: a VIRGIN Mint Julep
Just a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down! The Virgin Mint Julep is a wonderfully refreshing combination of mint leaves, lemon zest, H2O, maple syrup, and sugar. The real deal consists mostly of bourbon, flavored with mint, a dash of water, and crushed ice.
Engage in Poolside Chills
If you and your friends don’t have a pool at your disposal, make better friends.
If you’ve found people whose personalities outweigh their lack of pools, wander down to the pool at your local community center or make a day of it at an amusement park!
Master the NAE NAE
We’re so close...the trick is to keep your feet parallel, bend your knees, lift the arm of your choice, and step back right-left-right-left. Then add your own personal brand of swag.Â
If these instructions don’t cut it, watch the instructional video produced by 10 year olds who look way cooler than us.
Try Something New and Completely Outside of Your Comfort Zone
Chopping wood definitely checks both of those boxes! When trying something new, it’s helpful to ask an expert...and not get too down on yourself when you fail. This city-slicker learned to 1) stand with her feet shoulder width apart 2) hold the axe with both hands 3) aim for the middle 4) go for it!
The advice was great, but no one hits the bullseye on the first try!
Indulge with Macarons: Sweet Treats Light Enough for Summer
Often mistaken for the macaroon, a far less delicious melange of coconut, egg whites, sugar, and general ickiness, the true macaron is a delectable treat and beloved by all!
To make your own, locate the ingredients below, and follow the Food Network’s Recipe.
1 3/4 cups confectioners' sugar
1 cup almond flour
3 large egg whites, at room temperature
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
Pinch of salt
1/4 cup superfine sugar
2 to 3 drops gel food coloringÂ
1/2 teaspoon vanilla, almond or mint extract
5 Ways We Lived More for the 4th of July
Good things may come to those who wait—but BETTER things come to those who #waitless. This July 4th weekend, the Tapingo team made sure to do some serious living.
Chris crushed it - did absolutely #nowaiting and left early to #livemore in Tokyo!
Leanne lived a little with sun and surf at Stinson Beach
Ben’s BBQ Philosophy: Give a man a barbecue, feed him for a day; teach a man to barbecue and feed him for the summer.
Court got his wake on in Lake Sonoma
And since pics of fireworks are just the worst, check out Carter being patriotic on the beach in Tahoe!
