Hey, so, I know this is a bit outside your wheelhouse but I've seen you help other people with similar requests, so I hope this is OK.

I bought this laminated piece of art around Christmas '89 or '90, when I was 6 or 7, at a ski lodge in West Virginia (Canaan Valley, I think?). I adored it and although a lot of people would probably dismiss it as cheesy nonsense, it meant a lot to me, and it's message - to believe in the magic of your dreams - helped me a lot through a difficult childhood. I would love to know the artist, if it had a name, if it's possible to buy a copy that's not ancient and laminated 😅

Reverse image search netted me two results of the same laminated card, one for a Canadian eBay listing that no longer exists and one for a web page that no longer exists. Any suggestions?

Sorry, but I can't turn up much online either - it's listed in this old website as a grainy file, but with no further information about it. You might want to ask Sue Dawe about it, as she does a lot of unicorn art and might recognize it. Do any of my followers have any ideas?

How do you PRIMARILY find fanfiction to read?

I know the people who write them and get a front row seat

I go check the tag on ao3 frequently

I follow the tag on tumblr to find them

fic recs from posts on tumblr that come across my dash/ follow writers

I find fics from posts on other social media like bluesky, instagram, etc

I find fics from posts on short form video sites like tiktok, instagram reels, e

i am in a discord where people share fic recs/fic promos

i am in one of those tumblr communities and find fic recs there

someone i know sends me fic links

i only read fics brought to me by carrier pigeon

it's all good/ no consistent way/ i really don't know/ i don't read enough fic

there is a secret other way and i will elaborate

Reblogging this again bc people in the notes are asking a lot of "Am I included? Am I disabled if I have x?" and I just wanted to add the flag here to show people who the pride month is for.

This is the new flag, the old one was more vivid and in a z shape, but it's been made more neutral to be inclusive of people with seizures or sensory issues.

Each stripe represents a different aspect of disability:

Red: Physical disabilities

Yellow: Cognitive & intellectual disabilities

White: (And this is the key one I think) Invisible AND undiagnosed disabilities

Blue: Mental illnesses

Green: Sensory disabilities

If you're autistic or have ADHD? this is your pride month. If you have a mental illness, it's your pride month. If you're hard of hearing, this is your pride month. If you have an autoimmune disorder, this is your pride month. If you are not diagnosed with anything but you know something is up with you: THIS IS STILL YOUR PRIDE MONTH.

part of the problem with amatonormativity is that if you aren't interested in a long-term monogamous relationship people assume you will be a miserable empty incomplete shell of a person so you have to insist on your ability to be genuinely fulfilled by things other than marriage/monogamy/romance/etc. but at the same time society is shaped in a way where not being interested in those things can easily make you alienated, between marriage and reproduction being depicted as natural life stages that everyone needs to go through to be a fulfilled adult and it being considered standard to prioritize your romantic relationships over your platonic ones. and if you ever express loneliness or anxiety or guilt over this experience then people take that as proof that you just need to Find The One to make you realize that all your feelings and desires were actually just immaturity/fear of commitment/trauma this whole time and the societal norm IS the only way for you to be truly happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The assholes openly admit it. The whole point of college is to enforce the hierarchy. When those who were supposed to be low on the hierarchy started going to college, the assholes get angry and want to make them suffer for challenging the hierarchy.

#everyone should be able to get as much education as they want or need #everyone should be able to get a job that can support them regardless of how much education they have/want #or better should simply have enough to live regardless of ability to work #what a stupid way to frame college being necessary for basic jobs and costing way too much
