Tantrum Hockey RPF

I am trying to slightly de-anonymize to make it easier to follow my fics and keep up with delays and updates. I'm gonna use this Tumblr to post updates, sneak preview snippets, and talk about the unpublished WIPs I'm desperately trying not to work on when I should on my currently-being-published stuff.

My current WIPs:

Blue Under the Ice: Sid had a career ending injury before his draft and works as a AAA hockey coach in Vancouver. Macklin Celebrini joins his U-10 team and on the surface, he is everything a coach could ask for, but as the season progresses it becomes clear something is wrong in the Celebrini household. Sid does the only thing he can: stays. When Will Smith enters Mack's life he refuses to look away, and becomes one more person determined to prove to Mack family is something you can build. Nate/Sid, Will/Mack found family that will carry us from Mack's U-10 season to his draft.

Proprioception: Mitch Marner thought he knew what it meant to be a sub in the NHL. Vegas disagrees. Toronto punished Mitch after games and used him as a literal whipping boy, when Mitch is traded to Vegas and his team finds out, the boys want their pound of flesh from Toronto, but Eichel and Stone just want to help Mitch heal. Bio-BDSM AU with past Mitch/Auston, and undecided final pairing, it's low-key gonna be Marner-bowl I feel.

In Good Hands: Mitch Marner is attacked by a disgruntled Toronto fan after game 6 of the SCF. He is in intensive care and his team has to rally to bring him home the cup, while media, fans, and former teammates deal with the aftermath of the violence. Gen.

Completed Fics:

Forbearance: Toff POV. Tyler thinks he is watching something good. He is watching Mack become a leader, he is watching the sharks claw towards playoffs, he is watching Will and Mack fumble through a courtship they treat as too delicate to name. It takes one punch for everything to unravel and Tyler Toffoli has to come to terms with the fact he enabled omega superstar Macklin Celebrini to endure months of harassment from their new coach. Warnings for off-screen harassment and non-con touching.

What We Carry: The media outs Mack as a potential victim linked to an ongoing lawsuit against a former Jr. Sharks coach. Will POV, explores the fallout as Mack, the Sharks org, and the people who love him navigate public security, a hockey culture that protects the wrong people and how to love someone through pain you can't fix. (This is finished in that the story has a coherent narrative ending, but there will be a sequel where we tie up some more loose ends and resolve some of the institutional themes I established in this story)

Future Works I'm Trying to Avoid but I Can't Stop Thinking/Writing

Leno/Will/Mack NCAA Omegaverse: Will and Mack hate each other, they are the only omegas in Boston hockey and are constantly being compared to one another. They are attacked on a late night train after the Harvard/BU game by a group of alphas from the Harvard hockey team and form a partial bond as a response to the trauma. When they are hospitalized they have to finish the bond and keep it for at least a year for hormone/medical reasons. Mack is freaking out because he's supposed to be drafted in 3 months and now it is an open secret that he is bonded to last year's 4th overall. Leno is freaking out because he's been in love with Will since he was 16 and now the person he's always secretly viewed as his omega is bonded to someone else. Will is freaking out because he is blaming himself for everything and is slowly falling for Mack while being unwilling to relinquish Leno.

"It's just..." Another false start. "Before, if something happened..." He gestures vaguely with one glove, as though the specifics aren't important. "I could tell you."

Sid nods once.

"And then..." Mack shrugs. "You'd listen.”

The simplicity of the statement hits harder than Sid expects.

"You'd ask questions, or we'd change drills, or..." Another shrug. "Whatever."

He says it with complete confidence, not because he knows what Sid actually does after those conversations, but because he has never needed to. Somewhere along the way it had become enough that telling the truth moved the problem out of his hands and into Sid's.

"I knew..." Mack hesitates, searching again. "I knew you'd still be here after. You wouldn't..." He frowns down at the ice, frustrated that the words refuse to cooperate. "You wouldn't make me feel embarrassed, or... bad. I'd just..." His shoulders lift helplessly. "I don't know." ***

I teach and you would think that would mean more time in summer, but I was assigned two new subjects, so I am now teaching four different courses and all of them have new curriculum so I have been in training/planning hell.

Also I have a 4-year-old and she is demanding so balancing work + giving her the time and attention she deserves doesn't leave room for much else right now, but it is coming I promise.

Sid blows his whistle and sends Will to the far side of the rink, chasing pucks through a retrieval sequence and muttering encouragement to himself loud enough that Sid can hear fragments of it from center ice.

Mack looks at the puck resting near his blade. He looks towards the net. He looks past Sid’s shoulder toward the far end of the rink where Will is working through the retrieval drill, cutting sharply around a cone before accelerating towards the boards. Anywhere except directly at him.

He gestures Mack over, and Mack glides in towards him, but the closer he gets the more Sid becomes convinced that he already knows what’s coming. Mack won’t quite meet his eyes.

Across the rink, Will loses an edge trying to pivot too aggressively and windmills dramatically before recovering. A second later, Sid hears him laughing at himself, bright and uncomplicated.

Mack’s head turns automatically toward it, instantaneous and unconscious, like a flower tracking sunlight.
