hello beings of tumblr i just wanna post saying im back

you dont care obviously but still i just wanted to put it out there that i am lurking once more since life has been a lot less busy

im not sure what ill be posting on here but expect some blogging which will be mostly fandom related shit, other than that i dunno. i like certain websites for certain things and despite having free will the little guy in my head says "no you cannot blog on two separate websites, you can either have one or the other" either way, hello :)

since scrolling through my blog to see what i last posted, the doom the dark ages dlc came out yesterday!! i saw some of the cutscenes and wow i wasnt really expecting that but i am quite pleased

i love the colours used here and the lighting its so shiny and futuristic but also so elegant and powerful

i so badly want to paint this

this and the three cthulhu looking guys (the "old ones"?) really remind me of hp lovecraft - this cutscene specifically feels so mystical and unearthly

I literally just watched the trailer, I didn't read any comments Let me know what you think of these I'm so fucking excited "The Maykr's felt a weapon as powerful as the Slayer should be guided"

From DG beating the shit out of a demon(?) in one scene to being trapped in the yellow electric chain thing in the next makes me theorise that the Maykr's decided to control DG since he's so powerful. (idk why i typed this the guy literally says "a weapon as powerful as the slayer should be guided")

Maybe for most parts of the game you play under the influence of the Maykr's to progress the story in some aspects, while in other parts Doomguy is himself since in other scenes he has his normal brown eyes

Maybe I really need to look back over the lore but from what I remember DG fought with the Night Sentinels against Hell during the Holy Crusade which is when Dark Ages takes place. Upon the discovery of Argent energy, the Sentinel's had a civil war about it and split either to the side of the Maykr's or King Novik. I'm not really sure about who this guy is but judging by the Sentinels behind him wearing black armour, it's probably the Sentinels on the side of King Novik.

The next scene cuts to DG with yellow eyes, looking up presumably back at this guy - maybe he thinks DG is a traitor in this story, fighting for the Maykr's instead of with them. Judging by the first scene where DG got yellow around him and didn't seem to expect it maybe he's literally under the Maykr's control - "He's not one of us." Wasn't Doomguy on the side of the Sentinels who went against the Maykr's or am I wrong? The Maykr's do use DG as their weapon, but he isn't fighting totally for them right? Or maybe he's just saying the slayer isn't one of them because he's from earth??? "They fear him and so your dominion over hell is not absolute."

lol who this? maybe a prince of hell or something?

My theory for Doom The Dark Ages is that we're going to see more of Hells side during the "first age, first battle" and also the Sentinels side (obviously), but with a little more focus on Hell like in this scene. I really wonder who this masked character is, they look really creepy "Bishop creed, we need him."

Are these humans? Other Sentinels? Judging by her outfit anyways, she might be a commander of the flying ship we see throughout the trailer. The deck in the screenshot has blue light so maybe it's powered by Argent like Doomguy's fortress.

The woman is also holding a ball with a Maykr symbol on it which makes me believe that her, the ship and bishop creed are working with the Maykr's and using DG as their weapon against Hell, like in the codex or something. "I can never rule as king so long as you are the only one they fear."

DOOMGUYS EYES ARE GLOWING???

in some scenes from the trailer and the developer video it reminds me of when he turns god mode like in doom 1993 im fucking hyped look at this dude hes dope as hell (no pun intended)
