Coraline AU! - Tangled The Series

Oh my Gosh! Why the hell I haven’t thought about this before?! My friend @fluffywarriorgirl and I were thinking about this. Varian as Coraline Jones from the movie Coraline. He’s pretty similar! His father doesn’t show him much affection and the other world could trap him! Both are smart, an only child, even both have freckles! So yeah!

I haven’t drawn this yet but I wanna draw his Other mother. In this case, she will be Coraline’s father. Also, I wanna add Red, Angry and Vex as the ghost children. I changed Varian’s hair color for Coraline’s hair color and Cass’s for Wybie’s. 

I couldn't help but notice the moment I saw this poster that the color schemes are so similar. It probably means absolutely nothing... but I did find it interesting that there was a color gradient for the background of the new poster, instead of a landscape one like they have always done for the past posters... And it happens to be the same (well extremely similar the one in the poster is reversed and its brighter) color gradient as the one in Everything I Ever Thought I Knew.... Maybe it was just cause a gradient it was easier to do then a landscape, OR its some sort of foreshadowing maybe that we are gonna get a lot of Eugene's past this season and we'll get to see him finding who he is completely after the identy crisis he had in the last episode, which I'm sure he is still struggling with (which um with little Eugene in the cast and this being our final season WE WILL get his past AND HE SHOULD be satisfied with who he is by the end of the show, so even if its a foreshadowing or not it will happen anyway right?). In Everything I ever thought I knew, this gradient is shown when Eugene is singing the lyrics,

"Everything I yearned for, Everything I planned, All my sweetest memories were castles made of sand.

Now that its all crumbling, help me understand.

If none of it was really me than who am i supposed to be?"

These are the lyrics in the song where Eugene is doubting absolutely everything and he doesn't even know who he is anymore and he has hit rock bottom. And yes, Eugene did realize what he was supposed to do by the end of destiny's collide... but you can't tell me Eugene isn't still shaken or confused or hurt after finding out his past and it won't still affect him as a person! I also find it interesting the gradient is reversed, the pink is at the bottom on the poster but on the top in the song and that it is brighter in the poster, and bright usually is used for happier moods while dullness is for sadder moods. Maybe its to show that its a reverse in that lyric and Eugene will find himself completely and get to a place he is 100% condfident with who he is and what he is doing.

My closest friends in this fandom are Varian fans and I know how much y'all miss him and what you have all been through. Though I am mainly a New Dream and Eugene fan, I also consider myself a very big fan of Varian and this wait hasn't been that easy for me. And i know its been way harder for you guys. You have been waiting over a year and have gotten absolutely nothing, and a lot of you guys have gone through so much hate over the past year, and that a lot of your theories or opinions aren't taken very seriously. I'm so proud of the Varian fans who stayed in the fandom despite any hate you have gotten and didn't retaliate or give back any hate you have gotten from people and kept loving the character you love despite all the dumb fandom drama. You are valid, you are allowed to watch the show how you want, enjoy the characters you enjoy. And I hope that on October 7th, that you guys watch the new season premiere and get to see him and think the wait was all worth it! Cause heck I am excited to see him again and I already know I'm gonna scream and freak out when he comes back, and I know y'all love him even more then I do! I miss that lil stinker and he means a lot to me because I've made so many friends because of him and I love the Varian fans.

I'm very proud of you all!!! And I'm glad to tell you that there is an end in sight.
