Gorgeous Nightmare

The personalities of children with C-PTSD develop in the shadow of trauma and they appear to never make the developmental leap from amygdala to cortical executive functioning. Their lives are lived in a survival-based, amygdala-centric manner, and they are less connected to the consensual realities of the group mind. They are, in essence, constantly vulnerable to takeover by a more primitive version of the modern human brain—yet are tasked to live among others whose brains are organized in a different way. Man, I’m so upset that they cancelled Poker Face. That was such a good show. And Charlie Cale is such an incredible character. No one is doing it like her. It being gender. Like that felt like such a fresh take on just being a little bit queer with your gender that I haven’t seen on TV otherwise. And the stories otherwise are so fucking intriguing. You never get both in tv shows anymore. Either the character sucks but the shows concept is great, or the characters are amazing but the show is incredibly boring. This show had it all (almost, I can’t quite forgive them for not investing in the toxic yuri). But damn, I’m devastated actually.
