Ground Baker

Shiro looks at the 2 “Are you guys going through one of those growth spurt things kids go through or something? Cause you usually don’t sleep in that late” He says, crossing his arms.  “God dad, I didn’t know it was a crime to be a growing teen who needs sleep. Ussually you lecture me about not sleeping” She teases, rolling her eyes.  “Alright you guys are excused for now” The three huff.

“Today is mainly sparring and training against bots. Hunk you go first” Shiro hums as the others move off the training ground

Hunk huffs and sighs. He gets in stance and starts battling the bot. After bit he won. He was sweating and panting by the end. “Ok I did it!” He said excitedly holding himself up and making a winner pose. 

The others chuckle. “ Alright lance’s turn.”Shiro hums. Lance highfives hunk on his way out. Pidge smiles at the boy as she waits for her turn “You did good if it helps”

Hunk sighs and smiles. “Ya but it took me a bit longer then normal. Did Shiro up the bots or something?” he quietly chuckles trying to not get the attention of there leader.

Pidge snickers. “Yeah seems like it. Tryin to make us beef cakes” Pidge jokes softly.

Hunk chuckles quietly. “I was thing doing meatloaf or maybe burgers. Haven’t decided.”

“i miss a good old-fashioned burger. Can you make burgers ” pidge hums softly as she kicks her feat

Hunk smiles and nods. he gives a thumbs up and then goes back to paying attention to the others battles.

Once it’s pidges turn she wastes as little time as possible, using the rope on her bayard and its launching mech. It was a pretty multuse weapon. She liked that. After launching the blade through one of the last robot’s head she watches it drop. She smirks before coming back to watch shiro with his turn.

Hunk gives a thumbs up and a big smile. Looking like his dorky self.

Pidge can’t help but giggle, nudging the lager boy playfully.

Hunk chuckles a little at Pidges actions. Soon enough training was finally over. Hunk immediately went to the kitchen to start cooking. He took out the meet to let in thaw. while that was happening he went to the spices pulling all kinds out. Mixing things together to put on the meat before grilling it. At one of the teams stops on a planet, Hunk found a grill top that can go on top of a stove. It was super cool, so he got it. Today was the first day he got to use it.

Pidge spplits off to give upgrades to rover but soon migrates to the kitchen to watch hunk cook. “That looks yummy”

Hunk smiles at Pidge. “Thanks, I’m pretty excited to use this grill.” He points at it while going to the fridge. He pulls out all kinds of vegies to cut and put on the burger. As well as a block of cheese to slice up and put on the burgers. He takes out a sharp knife and a cutting board. Very swiftly he starts to slice the items. He has a lot of focus on his face.

Hunk entered the Hot topic with a smile. He only was going in there to get a gift for Keith’s birthday. As he walked in he was greeted by a friendly face. “Oh hello.” He looked around confused. He never really went in to these places so he did need help. “Actually could you help me out? I’m looking for a gift for my guy friend.” He ask scratching the back of his neck in embarrassment.

“If you can call it a parking lot.” He jokes as he gets in his lion and flies off back home. Well home for now. He lands his lion, as quietly as he can, and gets out to meet up with Pidge and sneak back to there rooms.

Once they are at her door she smiles. “Goodnight Hunk. I’ll see you in the morning okay?” She hums softly

Hunk nods and wavs goodnight back. He snuck back into his room and layed down. He fell asleep to the memories of tonight.

In the morning pidge is the last to wake up for training, stumbling out an hour after everyone else “morning guys” she calls with a small laugh

Pudge smiles and lance and Keith stare at her. “Okay first hunk now you. Why were you 2 late to training” lance says looking them up and down. “ I’m a growing girl lance. I need extra sleep to healthily grow bet the same with hunk. That’s why he’s so tall. It’s the sleep. ” Purge says confidently with a smile.

“Yup, exactly what she said.” Hunk smiles wide with his hands on his hips. 

Pidge smiles. “Weve been here a while so I’d say we should go now if we want any sleep. But we should do this more, it’s nice.” She hums as she gets up and starts to pack up the snacks and such.

And I wouldn’t trade these days with you and the others for anything. We’ll be home soon, and then we’ll probably all split up and rarely see eachother.” She hums, playing in the dirt as she speaks. “I don’t want that to happen just yet”

Hunk looks down sadly knowing that’s true. “Ya your right. And now that i know there’s more food out there, i might travel and learn all the different types of food out there.” He looks over at pidge and smiles. “And I’ll make sure to visit you all the time and maybe you can come on a couple of trips with, if you want to.” he looks away slightly blushing. “If your not busy of course.” He scratches the back of his neck nervously.

Pidge smiles. “As long as you promise to see me and not ditch me for your alien friends I’ll go on any trip you want.” pidge laughs. “but its gonna take me a little to catch up. The planets out here have amazing biology so im gonna study that. make field guides and see whats the best way to grow the plants on different planet. Oh! What if I was your alien veggitation dealer”she jokes, nudging the boy

Hunk laughs and pushes Pidge lightly in a joking manner. “I would be down for that, and don’t worry i don’t think I’ll be ditching you ever.” Hunk looks at his little watch thing that Pidge made him to keep time. Since phones don’t exactly work out here. Hunk sighs with a breath of fresh air and lays down looking at the sky. Taking in the moment. 

Pidge smiles and lays by him. It was really nice out. she takes everything in bit by bit so that shell always remember this perfectly. Time moves too fast sometimes.

Hunk lays there letting time fly. it was silent, but that nice type of silent. After a bit he finally ask “When do we have to go back again? I assume we need some kind of sleep other wise were gonna get caught one way or the other.”

Pidge sighs. “Yeah I miss earth but. We are here for a reason. We are needed. I’m glad we can help and we can do something productive of our journey home. And I wouldn’t trade these days with you and the others for anything.
