You had wanted to attend Oasis University when you were a younger hero. You’d learn battle techniques, healing methods and strategies to increase your allies’ damage. Go to the training range, meet new friends and practice with them. And now, you stood outside the university’s gates, where someone was dying.“Lena!” You cried out, staring at the wound in Tracer’s arm from the widow’s kiss. You grabbed her shoulders and pulled her behind a building so you were out of the sniper’s sight. Frantically trying to heal the spot, a crack appeared in the window of your hiding spot. The glass was tempered, causing pebbles of it to pour onto the ground profusely. You ducked out of the way, and another bullet whizzed past your heads. You nearly let out a scream. As you pulled out your biotic scepter, you tried to make the wound disappear. You took three deep breaths before turning around to see an angel flying down from nearby. Her name was Angela, appropriately.“Y/N. You can’t do this on your own.” She stated blankly. “This is critical condition,” she continued while gesturing to Lena, “and she can’t stay here. I’m bringing her to the-”“No!” You interrupted. You then covered your mouth, a bit stunned by yourself. You began to fidget with your fingers, drumming them on your staff.“Heroes stick together.” It was all you said.Lena bit her lip and rubbed her shoulder. “It still stings, mate.” She winced. “But I’m not going away.”Mercy argued. “But you-”“Wish me luck, lovelies!” She lowered her voice to a whisper. “I’ve got a duchess to catch.”You stayed frozen behind the Oasis University building, before Angela’s wing began to brush against your side. She then took you by your arms.“What are-”“I promise it’ll be safe. I have to watch over Lena.” She declared. “She’s outnumbered back there.”You then realized what she was doing. As her feet left the ground and you pulled out your light pistol, you took off with your arms around her waist. Once you spotted Widowmaker, she became stiff.“Sniper, be careful!” She whispered, though Lena wouldn’t hear it.You then heard another voice. “La veuve tisse sa toile.”An impulse decision, you jumped off of Angela’s back. The shock absorbed in your ankles stung, but your gun didn’t even slip out of your grip. You noticed the spider-like mine on the wall next to you, and held the trigger for a split-second. The venom mine was gone. But the sniper in front of you was not.Your first thought was to call for help, but you would’ve seen Tracer by now. She must’ve been escorted; She looked pretty hurt. With Widow’s scoped weapon pointing right at you, you had only mere milliseconds to duck out of the way. But you couldn’t.The shot hit you and you crumpled to the ground. You didn’t know how long it was until you heard Angela’s voice again.“Heroes never die!”She raised her hand in the air as your eyes opened up. Her wings shielded you from the sun; It was shining bright that day. The warmth coated your skin. As she took a look at you, her expression faltered from a smile to worry.“Are you alright?” She questioned immediately. You scratched your head. “Yeah, I promise.” You said. “…Thank you.”She didn’t say much else after she picked you up and flew up in the air again, like the angel she was.
