Valkyrie: I didn't even know there was an old plan.

Tanith: Me neither. Was there an old plan?

Skulduggery: No, but I was going to suggest a new plan.

Valkyrie: So what's the new plan?

So about Skulduggery and Valkyrie. I ship them, not going to lie, but with Landy constantly saying, "they're soul mates destined to find each other," I'm starting to have my suspicions that this goes further beyond being soul mates in love.

Here are my theories:

My first thought was Valkyrie is Skulduggery's wife reincarnated, but that's way too cheesy and cliché so that goes in the wheelie bin. Second theory was perhaps a piece of Skulduggery's soul moved on when he died and became part of Valkyrie but that was proven wrong when Valkyrie could see Skulduggery's soul.

And now, the final theory that literally made my heart drop... what if Skulduggery's the Child of the Ancients and he's destined to fight Valkyrie, the Child of the Faceless Ones?

It was proven that Valkyrie is in fact a descendant of the Faceless Ones which is why she's immensely powerful, but why is Skulduggery also extremely powerful, being able to handle necromancy so easily he could wield someone's necromatic weapon without permission? Only logical reasoning is that he's a descendant as well, which could mean he had blood of the Ancients. This could also explain why the Faceless Ones kept him alive. I'm not sure if it's because they didn't want to kill him since he was an Ancient descendant or if they couldn't kill him because he was too powerful.

If my theory is true, then that means Valkytie and Skulduggery are meant to find each other... and they were meant to partake in "the final battle between the Child of the Ancients and the Child of the Faceless Ones."
