A Talented Ensemble Brings Dominic Colón's THE WAR I KNOW to The Bronx
A playwright telling a story about a young boy living through the HIV/AIDS crisis. An actor who made television history as one of primetime TV's first openly gay characters. Performers whose careers span Broadway, television, film, and music.
A talented ensemble is coming to the Bronx, but stories like these often receive far less attention than they deserve.
On June 29 and 30, Egg & Spoon Theatre Collective brings Dominic Colón's The War I Know to Pregones/PRTT as part of the INCUBATE NYC 2026 initiative. Directed by award-winning playwright Rudi Goblen, the public readings feature Wilson Cruz, Gregory Diaz IV, and a cast of artists using theater to explore history, memory, empathy, and community.
TalkTeaV believes arts and culture deserve more than a quick mention. Just as journalists document events and historians preserve facts, artists help document what it feels like to live through a particular moment in time. That work matters, especially in boroughs that are too often overlooked in larger cultural conversations.
The War I Know is more than a reading. It is an opportunity to reflect on history, foster empathy, and support the artists helping preserve stories that might otherwise be forgotten.
If you believe Bronx arts, local theater, and independent voices deserve greater visibility, please share their work and help these conversations reach a wider audience.

Netflix has renewed A Good Girl's Guide to Murder for a third and final season.
The four-episode conclusion will complete the adaptation of Holly Jackson's bestselling mystery trilogy, with Emma Myers returning as Pip Fitz-Amobi alongside the series' returning cast.
According to Netflix, production has already wrapped, and the final season will bring the story to its planned ending.
Spider-Noir ended up being one of those shows that stuck with me long after the credits rolled.
I enjoyed Nicolas Cage's take on an older, world-weary hero, and I thought the series did a great job embracing its 1930s detective noir atmosphere. From the hard-boiled dialogue to the visual style, there were plenty of moments that felt pulled from a classic gangster film.
At the same time, I found myself noticing little details that reminded me of the Spider-Man cartoons and comics I grew up with.
So, did Spider-Noir win me over? In many ways, yes.
But that still leaves one important question unanswered.
Head over to TalkTeaV to read my full review and find out whether I would have taken a walk to Blockbuster to rent Spider-Noir.
Nicolas Cage and the cast won me over, but would I bring it home for a Friday night watch? Spider-Noir blends Marvel action with 1930s noir.

📺TV Rewind: 39 Years of Laughs: The Tracey Ullman Show
It was April 5, 1987, and a brand new network called Fox took its first breath of primetime air, and Tracey Ullman was there from the very beginning.
Her variety-sketch series was unlike anything else on television at the time, blending sharp comedy, character work, and a little something called The Simpsons, which debuted as animated shorts on the show before becoming a cultural phenomenon of its own.
Thirty-nine years later, The Tracey Ullman Show remains one of the most important hours in TV history, even if it doesn't always get the credit it deserves. Here's to the woman who helped launch a network and a dynasty, all in one night!

Star Trek: TNG | William Riker on the Power of Change
The Enterprise visits the planet Angel One in hopes of rescuing survivors from a Federation vessel that crashed there several years earlier. It has taken years for the distress call to reach them, so the crew is unsure what to expect. They do know that Angel One is a matriarchal society, where women hold power and men have a more subservient role.
As the crew searches for the lost freighter crew, they encounter a society preparing to execute one of its citizens. Riker makes a strong plea in an attempt to save lives.
Satire and Second Chances: Let's Talk TV Shows
Turns out, Homer Simpson and American Dad understood the news business better than most of us gave them credit for. For years, animated series have used sharp satire to warn us about the media circus and the endless chase for ratings. I’m revisiting seven episodes that really got it right.
As much as I love digging into the big media picture, I also want to spotlight an upcoming local event. A new round of Bronx poetry events brings writers and neighbors together at Poe Cottage, a perfect chance for Bronxites to connect through art. And if you’re following The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, here’s a no-spoiler take: The show finally finds its groove by leaning into the underdog spirit.
Before fake news and clickbait became everyday talking points, cartoons were already poking fun at the media spectacle we see today. These s
Scott Speedman Leads a Fun, Offbeat Florida P.I. Series
With its lively ensemble and an ideal Florida backdrop, R.J. Decker sets the stage for entertaining mysteries. The show channels the sunny, laid-back vibe of Magnum P.I. and the underdog spirit of Burn Notice, as a fallen pro tackles quirky cases and helps out the underdog. Should the cast’s chemistry keep growing, the show could even evoke a touch of Moonlighting as it goes on.
Scott Speedman stars in ABC's R.J. Decker as a disgraced newspaper photographer trying to rebuild his life as a private investigator, a ligh

Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma Sets August Release
Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma is heading to theaters with an August release from MUBI. The film marks the third feature from director Jane Schoenbrun and stars Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson.
The story centers on a fading slasher franchise handed to a young director eager to revive it. Her plan to cast the original film’s reclusive final girl begins as a creative decision but spirals into psychological tension and obsession.
Produced by Plan B and financed by MUBI, the film continues Schoenbrun’s run of genre-driven storytelling following I Saw the TV Glow.
