i’ve been obsessed with the concept album for the past few years, these are a couple of the songs (which in the show are sung by characters, with gorgeous arrangements that feature members of the ensemble as instrumentalists and on backing vocals):
cw: rather vague allusions to suicide (nothing graphic or explicit)
(side note: if you ever come to nyc, make sure to check out what’s playing off-broadway, off-off-broadway, etc… i do tend to love whatever i go see, whether it’s a flashy popular broadway show or something more niche, but i often find the niche productions more intellectually stimulating.)
