I've been pretending that my avoidant attachment in romantic relationships isn't that because it has to stem from something and I don't have any "I was vulnerable in a romantic relationship and it went poorly" trauma (except for maybe one but Eh) and I hate having to accept that it's my FUCKING PARENTS FAULT AGAIN
I think we as a society give "daddy issues" far too much credit, especially compared to "mommy issues".

I would love to hear the psychology behind (or really just why the fuck this is the case) a person, let's say...a friend... "Stop with the gender wars" comments piss me off for so many reasons, one of the main being that it's only ever said in response to women shit talking men (and frequently when women simply describe behaviors abd how they're harmful) and never when men cause tangible harm to women.
Personally I wouldn't describe the phrase "men ain't shit" as something to be associated with the hashtag evils of war, that feels more fitting for something more violent and systemic. Like, say, a human resources department ignoring the 5 reports of a female worker, only for her to be bludgeoned to death by the man she had reported FIVE TIMES. "War" feels like a term better used to describe a government having control over keeping a dead woman on life support, against the family's wishes, because that will allow the fetus inside her to continue to grow.
War feels a lot less like a bunch of women discussing easy ways to make a man embarrassed and a lot more like every female I've had a close relationship with sharing their assault stories. Or a country's president being a rapist. Or divorce lawyers urging women to not disclose their domestic violence experience when children are involved because they're less likely to keep their children. Or forums full of men discussing their crimes against women and how best to get away with it. Or a million other things unique to men harming women on the personal, professional, systemic levels.
But what do I know
Having consistent intrusive thoughts without compulsions evil because there's nothing I can do about it
Like if I had ocd, when I'm on the highway at night and get the intrusive "sharp turn into a ditch/those concrete barrier things/other cars" at least I could tap the steering wheel a bunch and feel assured, instead my bitch ass has to audibly yell "no!" And turn my music up in hopes that I'll forget about it
Note: my yelling and music turning up does not count as a compulsion, I have compulsory behaviors and this is not one of them.
