Has anyone noticed Verso's Perfection battle mechanic is so miserable. Forever struggling to reach and maintain perfection as a literal part of his battle mechanics. It's fucking Sisyphean is what it is, not only real Verso having to live up to his family's expectations, but painted Verso never being able to live up to their idealised image of dead Verso. Makes complete sense to me that he wants to hit irreversible rock bottom and shatter everything forever considering he is already repeating the cycle in his own battle mechanics and in his travels with the expeditioners and in his suicidal immortal life. Guy who is immortal in the way that dead people are, whose existence of grief inherently falls short because only dead people are eternally perfect, whose perfection is a fragile illusion that can shatter at any hit. The Overload skill where you can almost kill yourself but still only reach rank A. And in Maelle's ending being forced to rise from the grave to participate in Maelle's idea of perfection.
