i think jayce was as much of a loner as viktor was back in the academy days. he interacted with a bunch of people, sure. but that was about it. i mean, the only other person we've seen him actually be friends with is a girl who is roughly 10 years younger than him. so.
Jayce Headcanon Rant About Nationalities And Shit
So I headcanon Jayce as Colombian due to personal biases, because I myself come from Colombian heritage
But also because I am him and he is me. I relate to Jayce so much and project not only one of my nationalities onto him but also my transness, and lots of aspects of my personality
So when people argue with the art that I made of Colombian Jayce and Czech Viktor, saying it's "impossible" for a Colombian to have that stature, build, and colour, I become genuinely pissed
Because a) it's MY a headcanon, let me have Colombian representation that isn't just Narcos or Encanto
But also
b) he represents so much more than JUST a Latino man to me. I am a fat, short, very non-passing queer with a racially ambigious look, to where I've been mistaken for Hawaiian, Pakistani, Italian and other flavors of latino mixed in. What makes me so mad is people thinking you don't LOOK like you're queer, or Colombian, or whatever just because of how you look
Jayce can be fucking Colombian. 'Oh, genetics this and genetics that! He's actually Brazillian!' So you're saying it's impossible to be a tall, moreno man built like a inverted Dorito in Colombia?
Leave me and my fucking headcanon alone. I love Brazillian Jayce regardless of my rant. But don't argue 'genetics' with me because it's so bullshit.
the artblock demons came for me when I attempted to draw Jayce and Vikor dancing
They had cute little outfits too... in Colombian and Czech traditional attire...
I cannot stop thinking about latino Jayce holy shit. Specifically Colombian.
I don't know if Jayce would fucking kill it at Cumbia and Bachata or be clumsy with two left feet. I feel like he got the moves but he's rusty?
God. I need to draw him in traditional clothing. Same goes with Viktor. Maybe both of them in Czech AND Colombian traditional clothing
Anyway latino Jayce real, whatever country you think he's from. I'm just partial to my own heritage.
Here's a Mexican Jayce for you that I found

I like to think that right after the scene where Jayce finds Viktor trying to jump to his death (though the aftermath wasn't shown, damn you Riot), the conversation they had was pretty gentle.
Jayce was probably freaking out internally, yeah, the guy's shown that he'll do everything to keep Viktor alive, even if it goes against VIKTOR'S own wishes. But for that one scene? He was gentle.
I feel like he'd sit Viktor down, talk about the weather for awhile. Stupid stuff. Something to wind down both their anxieties before he pops the 'big' question--
"...Why, Viktor?"
Except Jayce definitely knows why. He knows, but he wants, selfishly, for Viktor to say it.
"I do not wish to rot like a pile of dead weeds, Jayce. I am suffering. I hurt. My end was never meant to be a hospital bed."
Jayce probably wouldn't comment further on it. Neither of them would, just like they know not to comment on Jayce's own attempt all those years ago. That's something you leave unsaid until it bites you from behind.
Jayce would take Viktor back to his apartment, fix him a cup of sweet-milk, try to smooth the moment over and go back to normalcy. But he knows; they both know. Viktor's mostly sticking around for Jayce, for Jayce's distant hope and a promise he won't fulfill. It would be Jayce's sake that kept Viktor alive. (until viktor gets BLOWN UP at least)
I think Jayce has the Dad Actions to things.
Y'know, like those big yawns dads do or sneezing loud enough to shatter nearby glass windows and register on the ricktor scale. He does THOSE kinds of things.
Has the vibe of a guy who awkwardly hits his hands on his knees when people need to leave his house after social gatherings like some weathered southern guy in his 40's.
