slow burn or love at first sight: Lingering hell please
fake dating or secret dating: Not sure what either of these mean tbh, must be some tropes I've managed to avoid
enemies to lovers or best friends to lovers: Personally, romance in my fiction isn't all that important to me. It may just be a matter of execution, but I've often felt like taking the characters friendship to the "next level" took away part of what made it good in the first place. Since enemies to lovers is all about developing a bond between characters, I tend to mind it less there. Something previously undefined can grow in any direction!
there’s only one bed or long-distance correspondence: I relate to it
hurt/comfort or amnesia: Messing with memories is very cool, but!! To me, it is but a single brand of hurt! And I love them all <3
fantasy au or modern au: I read neither of these! But if I had to choose, let there be wings
mutual pining or domestic bliss: "I can't tell a compelling story where nothing bad happens! Where's the intrigue? The stakes?"
smut or fluff: Sex repulsed :(
canon-compliant or fix-it: Sometimes, it feels like the story moves on too fast. I don't want to fix things - I want to stay and feel it the moment. There's so much left to think about!
reincarnation or character death: YES!! KILL!!
one-shot or multi-chapter: Multi-chapter fics are intimidating since they may take longer to get a proper feel for, but in truth, the best things I've read are generally multi-chapter. Alas, I'm the one who needs to get a longer attention span
kid fic or road trip fic: I don't really like it when a fic stars oc's as part of its main cast, preferring to delve deeper into existing relationships. And adventures are fun!
arranged marriage or accidental marriage: How does an accidental marriage happen??? 😭
high-school romance or middle-age romance: Adults <3
time travel or isolated together: Forces interaction! Choose the right characters, and it may provide the scene for development that could have never happened otherwise
neighbours or roommates: I like first meetings and getting to know one another. In that sense, a bit of distance leaves more time for thought, time for unknowns, outsiders to each others lives looking in
sci-fi au or magic au: I read neither of these too! Just don't want to diverge from the canon setting. To me, sprinkling a bit of magic elements tends to feel less intrusive. Soulmates are specially nice <3
body swap or genderbent: It's nice when the characters get to see from each others point of view
angst or crack: Burn baby burn
apocalyptic or mundane: I want to stay and feel the moment
Great questions! Thanks for asking :)
