#zombots

Ya heard it Sonic.

These are older drawings now but I was gonna animate the Zombie song with them and wanted to get an idea, first but i never to actually animating it.

Here’s some angst because the Metal Virus has been picking at my head since I learned about it.

In this AU, Shadow gets himself infected, but is able to use his powers to stop its effects, like Sonic did, and the two of them fight the virus together. And, throughout this new version, Shadow and others blame Sonic in the same ways they did in the comics.

But, when Sonic and the rest make it to Angel Island, Shadow’s there too, and when Silver unfortunately gets himself infected and becomes a zombot, Shadow and Sonic turn Super to stop the Virus. But, as Sonic sees his friends become zombots, and after they expel the Virus, he starts to succumb to the dark hole in himself forming from the Metal Virus Arc. Shadow and Sonic stay at Angel Island, but Sonic goes Dark Sonic and tries to end Eggman once and for all. But in the process, his friends try to stop him and they get hurt, snapping Sonic out of it.

Unfortunately, Sonic gets hit hard with these events and the Metal Virus, and ends up becoming social disconnected from everyone and goes on a “Vigilante Arc” like Deku did after the First War Arc in MHA. Sonic, in his weakened state, travels the world destroying every badnik and every Egg Factory he finds himself across. But, like in the Vigilante Arc, Sonic finally gives him and lets his friends help him locate Eggman, and through a tough battle, Sonic instead of ending Eggman, sends to the most secure detention facility in the Sonic world, where they expect Eggman will never hurt anyone again.

when that's what the Black Arms are for Black Doom (tho the Black Arms actually seem more cognitively aware than most zombots)

So the Metal Virus is a mechanical virus basically a synthetic man-made metallic virus. What it does is apparently transmute living organism's bodies into metal similar to how some viruses do only on a bigger scale. I makes the whole bodies into a walking metal virus which acts like say Clayface when hit. Probably best not to get them too wet. The Zombots are also pretty aggressive.

Since it is a virus it mutates and evolves and gets to the point where Eggman can no longer control the Zombots. This is also why the Metal Virus is by far Eggman's worst plan in-universe and is something he wouldn't use in the future.

The Metal Virus since it is a virus can be cured as Tails made a cure. However, Tails fumbled the bag and destroyed the cure because he was spooked.

Also, something that doesn't make sense is when Super Sonic and Silver removed the Metal Virus from everyone, they didn't do something like snap their fingers and transmute everyone back to flesh and blood. But rather they removed the virus as if it were some kind of Metal coat which doesn't make too much sense given was established earlier. Written by Eris
