A page from my new comic SON OF SON OF TOMAHAWK, which you can buy at the link in my bio! This page is an homage to a very specific tradition in Japanese alternative comics, the “GARO Ending” as suggested by @mangaberg and my dear friend Joe McCulloch. Invented by Yoshiharu Tsuge in his masterful story “The Swamp” for GARO magazine, a splash page illustrating a main character’s helpless outcry against an environment subsuming them became a tradition at the magazine (image 3 here is by Kuniko Tsurita, 4 by Seiichi Hayashi).
