13. What’s the best writing advice you’ve ever come across?Oh dear. They are not original and one of them is… problematic, but here goes.  The first is “show, don’t tell.”  I know there are a million ways to break the rule et cetera et cetera, but when writing is immersive, I find explanation is crowded out in favor of illustration.

The other one? My French teacher in high school related to me.  I don’t usually share it because it’s sexist. Or I share it without context: that writing should be long enough to cover the subject and short enough to keep interest.  The sexist mnemonic is to compare this to a woman’s skirt. (vomit.) But I use it all the time (except for when I’m making rambling responses to Tumblr ask memes).

Related: never use two words when one will do.  (Also not observed in this response). 

32. How do you feel about smut?You mean… given the fact that easily 80% of my AO3 history and 90% of my AO3 bookmarks are smut? Or that I have a strangely dear ambition to be able to write smut that makes other people feel like good smut makes me feel? Or the way that smut is how I discovered… things… about myself?  

37. Talk about your current wips.If this was for more than fic, I’d be writing a list all night long. I’m rather horrible at organizing myself to do tasks in an orderly fashion and so I kind of just let myself do what I want to, creatively, when I’m not being paid for it.

I recently started an Ineffable Bureaucracy fic that I am thoroughly enjoying writing, but the working title is Boots and Hatesex and I change my mind four times daily whether I’ll end up publishing it anonymously.

Then there’s an epistolary fic (Aziraphale/Crowley enemies to friends to lovers) I’m co-writing with someone delightful (who can name themselves if they want but they have a million WIPs and don’t need any more pressure for any of them).

In half-abandoned land: A nearly finished polyamorous mercenary short story that just needs me to share it with literally anyone to review it and then stop editing after that. A complex, dream-inspired retelling of The Djinn in the Nightingale’s Eye, with a gay love story (featuring the djinn). A disturbing, dream-inspired Bluebeard retelling (wherein Bluebeard has children in order to eat their souls and live indefinitely). FUN STUFF, in my brain. FUN.  Also a poem about my lifelong obsession with dragons and fantasy (and dragons), inspired by @nicnacsnonsense‘s Romancing with Dragons.

5. The scene from the book that you don't regret being skipped in the show / The scene from the book that you terribly missed in the show.I didn’t really miss the extra horseman. They were definitely a lot of fun but they just fit the book more than the show. The scene I miss is the parts where Aziraphale was flitting between possessions, that was SO much fun and I can’t believe we were deprived of Patton Oswalt, god.

there is def. 0% reasons to be too shy to talk to me, i’m just as stupid as everyone else on this site. maybe a bit more charming because i shamelessly flirt with everyone, but don’t tell my girlfriend that (she already knows and she still loves me tho, bless her heart).
