Back on Decadron
I've been feeling soo sick the past few days. The worst throat ache every time I swallow, body & muscle aches plus nausea and headaches in my temples. I went to Sloan's urgent care at the request of my oncologist so they can check if I have an infection, or if the drug I've been on is causing these side effects.. It turns out its from the drug- Zelboraf. This drug is killing me :/ from bad rashes and now this. I've been off the steroid for a couple of days now but my dr now thinks that the nausea and headaches are caused by swelling in the brain caused by the tumors that are there so I'm being put back on it again... I was put on for the first time in September because I was rushed to the ER when I couldn't stop throwing up and the room was spinning so much so that I couldn't walk. After being kept over night in this state, they finally gave my drs at Sloan the CT scan results and they prescribed the steroid. (they noticed slight swelling caused by one of the tumors and this caused the dizziness, nausea and vomiting) Finally I felt back to normal once they gave it to me. It's main side effect is its supposed to make you gain weight, I actually lost about 4 lbs on it, ending up at 97 lbs :| I found out that this is because the steroid can weaken your muscles after a while, no wonder my legs look like sticks now lol I was starting to gain weight back, but now that I'm being put back on we'll see what happens, it also keeps me up at night but I guess it's better than feeling like this!
