I had attached this to a different post about recognizing melanomas but the op has since turned off reblogs so I will make it it's own post.
Remember that anyone of any skin color can develop skin cancer and people with darker skin tones are more likely to have it missed by doctors because of medical racism.
Stay safe and wear sunscreen and/or protective clothing everyone.
You can find skin cancer early when it's highly treatable if you know the signs and check your skin.

A sun tan is horrible, people. It's not nice. It's not "healthy". Or anything.
It. Is. Skin. Damage.
It's literally your skin (your body's largest organ) trying to tell you, in the only way it can, to get the fuck out of the sun because it's suffering. And if it's suffering, then you will too.
If you willingly have a sun tan, you're either an idiot or you need some proper healthcare education. Possibly both. I don't know.
I live in a country that's seemingly filled with people who want to roast in melanoma-rays as some sort of lifestyle choice.
Also - We have the highest rate of melanoma IN THE WORLD.
Those two things are not a coincidence.
Tans. Are. Not. Nice. They're skin damage. They're trying to be a warning call. They're a precursor to melanoma and skin cancer. Stop calling them anything different. Certainly stop calling them anything positive-sounding.
