Translator Notes:
I had to very loosely translate the first panel. The term the Japanese script used was chuunibyou, which is short for chuugaku ninen byouki, or âSecond-Year Middle-School Sicknessâ. This is sometimes translated as âEighth-Grade Syndromeâ for English audiences, but a bit of research indicated that this wasnât a widely used term, so I opted not to use it. In brief, it refers to the way that a confused young teenager acts whoâs going through puberty and has just discovered the concept of acting deep and mysterious.  âActs super tough and pretentiousâ was the best way I could come up with to approximate the semantic idea behind the term.
Grimnirâs Japanese speech was super archaic and pompous, so I did my best to write his English lines in exactly the same sort of way, using old-timey vocabulary and grammatical constructions.
I didnât have a great idea for how to translate âAllform Windâ. The Japanese term was ä¸č˛ăŽé˘¨, which I think is pronounced banshiki no kaze. 風 (kaze) means âwindâ, so thatâs straightforward enough, but ä¸ (ban) and č˛Â (shiki) both have a number of possible interpretations.Â ä¸ means âten thousandâ, but it can also mean âallâ or âeveryâ.Â č˛ means âcolorâ, but it can also mean âcomplexionâ, âappearanceâ, âpersonalityâ, âtypeâ, or any number of things like that. Furthermore, this term doesnât seem to appear in the official Japanese script for Granblue Fantasy itself, meaning that I had to get creative. I believe the idea behind it was to describe wind of all kinds raging about, and âAllform Windâ sounded cool to me, so thatâs what I came up with.
