Schrödinger's Chazwick Thurman
What I like about Helluva Boss is that it's a show so absurd that you can expect anything from it. It doesn't hesitate to flirt with its viewers' expectations, tease them, and leave them completely confused.
So, we have a guy named Chaz.
Who was killed at the end of Episode 3: S2
The golden rule of cinema is "If the body is not shown, the character cannot be considered permanently dead."
and he decided to pretend to be his own twin brother in order to avoid problems with the mafia and his financial debts.
And here's where knowing the show's creators, we can start to have a little bit of doubt. Just because creating a real twin brother when everything obviously points to the opposite, it's funny and very in their spirit.
Besides, faking your own funeral is a pretty clever plan. I'll remind you that Chez's previous "genius" plan went something like this:
is easily explainable, considering how Moxxie's father prefers to dispose of those he deems undesirable.
Plus, I find it hard to believe that Crimson wouldn't have been able to handle Chaz. Although, I can also imagine that the whole idea of the fake funeral was actually his, just because he still needs Chazwick for some reason, and not under his own name.
And a ripped-out jaw is like a mafia member who gets his little finger cut off as punishment. It's painful, educational, but not fatal.
What else could indicate that Zahc is the real twin? The fact that Blitz believes it.
We've already seen an example of how his intuition works, even in the most absurd and ridiculous situations.
So we have a few options for what to expect from Chazwick's story: He's alive and playing his twin,
he's dead and his twin was real,
he's alive, his twin is real, and we'll have two horny sharks in the third season (the funniest option).
I think we'll find out one day.
Until then, we put Chaz in a Schrödinger's box, where he is simultaneously dead, alive, and his own twin.
