Waxing Poetic, one of my newer works that is showing at @konferoart gallery, 36"x48" on wood panel. This piece was inspired by my works of last year's art residency (#Eastend Arts Council / #WallaceStegner House). I was enlightened by my constant appreciation of #shadow and #light. The shadow of my chandelier fell upon this canvas and I was moved to #paint it's imprint. Later in it's development, pondering what the canvas required next, I added words. I #love #words, writing, font, script, #poetry -all the elements. So I painted phrases in english and #french, even collaborating with @ladysamantharay for a few of her fave, who knew she was also fluent in french!? Lastly to obscure the words and bring focus to the chandelier I layered #colour in my therapeutic smoooshing way!
