We need a little Christmas
So what it was..what a week or so after thanksgiving. When the Christmas songs started and and folks started decorating. Especially the shops about town and Delphic Books and Bauble was no exception.Â
She always loved the Holiday seasons,.. even..with everything and twenty eight years in Storybrooke  had been semi lonely with memories..of..memories?..false memories at that. Even the Lost Year had been semi rough as Christmas/Yule approached as she and the gang weâre traveling and searching but they had finally. Been able to get close to her home by Christmas despite all the mishaps and even more so she and Dor and faithful and stalwart companions had found each other. Â
Needless to say..this one was semi bitter sweet. They weâre back in StoryBrooke and apart from part from their family, friends and people. (theyâd been trying to get the magic mirrors working  again at least so they could talk to them etc. Maybe theyâd get a small Christmas miracle. But even so she was grateful and intended to celebrate to the fullest. Hence the songs playing as they decorated and cooked in shifts in the kitchenette in the back. Â
She began to hum as one of her favorites drifted over the speakers. LeAnn Rimesâ version of âWe need a little Christmas.Â
âHaul out the holly; Put up the tree before my spirit falls again. Fill up the stocking, I may be rushing things, but deck the halls again now.â
She slightly closed her eyes as pauses for a minute, wearing her reindeer sweater, antlers and mid selecting an ornament for one of the trees about the shop. Theyâd been working on the one near the fireplace. As her voice joined in and she added another brightly colored golden bulb, to the green, blue ones. near the silver bells.
For we need a little Christmas Right this very minute, Candles in the window, Carols at the spinet. Yes, we need a little Christmas Right this very minute. It hasn't snowed a single flurry, But Santa, dear, we're in a hurry;
The stockings weâre already along the mantel. Different than the ones at home. Heck especially from ones that weâre actual thick woolen ones they would use in The Enchanted Forest/Mist Haven. If she tried hard enough she could almost so so easily slip into her happy place and imagine that she was in front the fireplace in her and Dorâs master bedroom. For just a moment.
Hear the bells from the chapel, and the town clock in the village of Oakridge. Powdered with the first snow.
âSo climb down the chimney;
Put up the brightest string of lights I've ever seen. Slice up the fruitcake; It's time we hung some tinsel on that evergreen bough.â
The Christmas roses and wreath she picked, and tied up  herself. That theyâd bring to her parents stone and the memorial for her dear brother. Who had wanted to go the way there ancestors on their motherâs side  had on a ship pyre as any hero should. Oh Connor. She had to quickly wipe her face. Even after all this time..she still missed them greatly.Â
âFor I've grown a little leaner,
Grown a little colder, Grown a little sadder, Grown a little older, And I need a little angel Sitting on my shoulder, Need a little Christmas now.â
{Pull it together}She mentally reprimanded herself. The others would likely come back in soon or Sherlock would breeze through the door and she didnât want them to be upset. no it was Christmas /Yule time, dang nab it. And it was gonna be happy. Or at least sheâd tried to help make it so for them. After all the BakerStreet Gang and others in town weâre family by bond. And she wasnât gonna let them down.Â
