Fukkachan with idol singer and yuru-chara fanatic Yufu Terashima.

Here’s the music video for Yufu Terashima’s recent b-side, Sekai de Ichiban Kawaii Kimi e (世界で一番かわいい君へ; to you, the cutest in the world). It features some footage from the photo shoot of one of the single’s limited-edition covers, and some highlights from the Gotōchi Chara Narita-mō 2017 (ご当地キャラ成田詣2017) event in Unari-kun’s home of Narita, Chiba Prefecture, where Yuffy also performed live.

Wotagei (ヲタ芸 or オタ芸) is a type of dancing and cheering associated with hardcore fans of Japanese idol singers. Thanks to Yufu Terashima and her love of yuru-chara, the mascots also get to be part of the chants - as heard in this performance of Iyahaya Feeling at Fukkachan’s birthday party (2017.06.24).

It’s a somewhat abbreviated shout-out to all the members of the Yuruffies: Gatagorō (often called Gata-chan), Unari-kun, Fukkachan, Sasadangon (Sasa-chan or Dangon-chan), Peccary, Mikke-chan, Shinjō-kun, Kapal, Chōsei Tōnyū-kun (”Mamechichi” is another name for soy milk, i.e. tōnyū), and Okazaemon. Only some are present on-stage there, but they’re all in the music video.

Yufu Terashima’s new single Watashi o Ryokō ni Tsuretette (わたしを旅行につれてって) was released last week. No mascots in the video this time, but her bedroom is full of yuru-chara memorabilia.

Besides normal members Chōsei Tōnyū-kun, Gatagorō, Shinjō-kun, Sasadangon, Mikke-chan, Fukkachan and eventually Kapal; we also see two “new” members: Ayukoro-chan (あゆコロちゃん, Atsugi, Kanagawa) and Jingisukan no Jin-kun (ジンギスカンのジンくん, Hokkaido).

Yuffy seemed to be on a quest to meet 'em all at the Yuru-Chara Grand Prix 2016. Here are some of the more obscure examples:
