I went to the battlefields of ww1 today and yesterday with my school, (they were Ypres and the Somme) and Iโm so shocked at how people in my year were acting, we went to cemeteryโs where thousands or even tens of thousands of people are buried and there were people laughing and running around as if it was a playground? I felt sick being there, the amount of lives, lost each with their own story that we will never know affected me so much and if baffled me that my peers could be so undazed? For example a girl asked me to take a photo of her laughing infront of one of the memorials that bore 72,000 missing soldiers names? Like have our generation lost all empathy?
