The most recent piffle chapter was my favorite so far!!!!! I'm so excited to see where you go with it after reading this chapter (all the "look at me" lines just killed me). Keep it up!! (from yououui, sent from my main blog)
I’m so glad you enjoyed the latest piffle chapter!! :D :D The whole traitor thing is something I wanted to see being touched on - no one really has Kurogane confront Fai about this *very important detail*, and there is so much potential for it to head places. Fai looking at Kurogane is one of the most important things, yes :DÂ
Thank you for the message!! :D
Would it be too much to ask for a one shot continuing that sketch you posted of KuroFai after Fai had the truth serum? I'm very interested in what would follow
For you? It’s never too much! tbh “truth serum” is a bit misleading since it’s the world they’re in that forces all of them to speak truthfully. But hey. Details.Â
Comics in question by both me and @lionlookingforfeathers [ 1 2 3 ]
“Because I love all of you more than I can stand and all I want is for you all to be happy and safe at the end of this,” the words are tumbling from Fai’s mouth in a rush and Kurogane knows there’s nothing either of them can do to stop it. Fai is being compelled by the world around them and this truth will be heard. “And I want to be there with you, but I know that’s never going to happen.”
The fear in Fai’s eyes is unsettling, almost as unsettling as the impulsive honestly they’re all being forced to endure. Both of his hands are clasped over his mouth, like he is trying to keep anything else from escaping. Kurogane’s already spilled his heart to both Sakura and Syaoran, and he’s sure that if they don’t all take a vow of silence he’ll end up doing the same to Fai. Kurogane is no liar, not by a long shot, but he doesn’t wear his heart on his sleeve like this.
This world is probably one of Fai’s worst nightmares.Â
“Fai…”
“Oh no.”

I remember reading when they were in Nihon, someone (I feel like it was Fuuma?) said that his left eye grew stronger and his right eye grew weaker the more his magic was used. So Fai was losing his magic as Syaoran used it
Ahh so that might be canon. I’m at work right now but I’ll take a look when I get home to get the wording (though if giniroangou has taught me anything it’s that even the official translations can be shoddy so).
Are you still accepting prompts? How about fai learns kuroganes real name.
Always anon. Always.
Kurogane didn’t know how to tell Fai because it had never come up. Syaoran’s real name was willingly given, Fai’s was not, and so far there had been no instance to justify Kurogane just telling Fai that he too had a different name. A true name.

Can i ask for Fai's reaction to Kurogane bringing home the twins to stay and raise from your resettling suwa fic? Im a bit curious as to his reaction. But if you dont want to that prompt, thats also ok. : 3 thank you.
I’ve done up a little epilogue about the twins in Suwa! If inspiration strikes later, I might do a series of bits and pieces of fluff. I’ll take prompts for fluffy inspirations?
Okay still death but I need more than the sudden all alone deaths: Fai falls during battle, just like all these other headcanons, but Kurogane is by his side. He's there to cut down the man that hurt Fai and holds Fai in his arms as the blond struggles to breathe. Neither of them wish or beg for Fai to live. Instead Kurogane holds Fai close and sings to him because he knows that Fai loves to hear him sing, and Fai thanks Kurogane for everything.
Hey remember when you all sent me a bunch of headcanons killing Fai? I still have a few in my drafts! :D
The world slows nearly to a stop. Kurogane swears he feels more than sees the arrows, charmed to pierce through Fai’s magic barriers, pierce his husband’s armor and body. Fai’s eyes go wide, shocked and unbelieving, before they find Kurogane.
It’s only age and practice that keeps Kurogane’s monstrous rage from swallowing him whole. The man who shot the arrows (he was close and later Kurogane would learn that the charm on the arrow needed to be used at short range) dies, painfully and quickly, on his blade. As do those flanking him.
The battle goes on around him, but Kurogane could not have cared less if he tried. Fai is on the ground, the cold, ashen, bloodied ground, and Kurogane is by his side. Gentle as he can he lifts Fai’s head onto his lap. He’s seen enough war, dealt and received enough wounds to know that there is no saving Fai, even if they had a healer there right now. Fai is dying and Kurogane cannot save him this time. there is no talking manjuu to call a mysterious shopkeeper for help, no price he can pay.Â
“Sorry,” Fai wheezes, a watery smile on his sheet white face. Kurogane remembers blood and rain that burns and feels an all too familiar ache return to his chest. there is no witch, no vampire twins to help them. Kurogane hushes him with gentle words this time rather than a fist to a crumbling wall.
Kurogane bends forward as if to shield Fai, shield them both maybe, from the war still going on around them. He kisses Fai’s forehead, pledges love again and again. One of Fai’s trembling hands finds its way to Kurogane’s hair, strokes a path along the graying bits and requests a song. “I don’t want to hear this fight anymore,” he says. Kurogane’s always been more than a little helpless to deny this man.
It’s an old cradle song. Mothers sing it to little ones to ward off bad dreams, it had been Kurogane’s favorite as a boy. He sings and when the song ends Fai’s breathing is shallow. It won’t be much longer.Â
Fai is in pain. He reaches for the sword Kurogane had tossed to the ground beside them. “I’m cold, Kuro-sama.” Another promise, long forgotten, returns to Kurogane and as he looks into Fai’s eyes he knows, understands, what is being asked.Â
If you really want to die so badly, I will kill you myself. Until then, live!
Because I'm sick and it got me thinking of this. Fai doesn't get sick very often, pretty much never actually. But Kurogane has gotten the sniffles a few times and in one world he ends up bedridden because of how sick he ended up getting, and he's miserable and grumpy but grateful towards Fai who learns how to prepare hot and soothing miso soup just for him.
Okay but every time someone in the family gets sick Fai goes like ultra mother hen on them. I don't think he's ever gonna be over not being able to use healing magic, so when the family is sick of hurt he's probably all kinds of extra concerned.
Kurogane refuses treatment until Syaoran's enough to herd him to bed, which means he's a mess. Fai dotes on him a lot and at first Kurogane tries to push him away and grump until he's left alone until he realizes exactly what was going on. He lets Fai dote with only a few token protests after that. Plus, the mage is really good at making miso soup.
