Yoo-lan
After this, I have so much respect for this woman. I miss her.
I hope Kusanagi brings her back after all I don't think Kuelbo is done yet.
Akatsuki no Yona Chapter 173 Thoughts
A little bit of an unsatisfying chapter...
In this chapter, the Kouka tribes are storming into the Sen Province with Hak and the dragons leading. Hak has the Fire Tribe treating like him like a commander, something that Joo-Doh is very unhappy with, which is something quite understandable, considering Soo-Won is still the king.
Hak and the dragons have only one intent after entering the gates: which is find Yona and Kuel-bo. Hak’s extremely determined to find Yona, even with his limited energy due to his wounds. He is on the verge of falling, but he refuses to collapse, especially when he sees the rest of the troops are also the same.
The Tully Tribe are sounding a retreat, commanded by Kuel-bo, who obviously knows he cannot defeat the Kouka troops now, especially not when he’s injured.
We then flash back to Yona, who hears shouting due to the fight at the gates. The chain at her ankles are holding her back from walking properly and Yoo-Lan, Kuelbo’s wife, throws her into a chest to protect her, due to her fierce loyalty to Kuelbo and what he said to her to protect Yona. She meets Gobi, who is intending to harm Yoo-Lan for the location of Yona. Of course our princess Yona will never let anyone sacrifice themselves for her, and there she is, shooting an arrow at the man who was about to harm Yoo-Lan. She even said she wants Yoo-Lan to live and reunite with Kuelbo, showing the respect each woman have for each other. I was just so proud of both Yona and Yoo-Lan. The female characters in AnY have never disappointed, and this scene only proves it even more. They are all strong and their loyalty are so fierce as well.
Unfortunately, Yona, with her chained ankles, is able to run far from Gobi and his men, and eventually got caught with Yoo-Lan watching. I hope Yoo-Lan catches on and calls for help, or just do something, anything. (At this point, I am a little disappointed that my wishes last chapter that Yona would fight to the front gates and meet Hak and the 4 dragons were dashed. It would have been awesome to see that, but I guess this is the reality, where the castle is way too big, and Yona’s chained ankles are too big of an hindrance.)
We then go back to the Kouka troops, Hak and the four dragons, whom are still searching for Yona. Hak spots someone suspicious, whom is none other than Kuelbo disguised as a Fire Tribe soldier. It seems like Kuelbo hasn’t given up on making Yona his, or that he is looking for his wife. Either that, he hasn’t retreated, and I look forward to what Hak would do to him.
I just hope that the next chapter would be more relieving, when Yona is finally reunited with the rest of the Happy Hungry Bunch. And of course Hak too. I just wish some progress will be made between the two of them.
Also, i sincerely wish that Kuelbo would give up on his quest to make Yona his, and just appreciate his wife more. Yoo-Lan is such a great, loyal, strong woman, he should be grateful that she married him LOL.
Anyways, here’s to the next chapter! I shall await good news!
