My thoughts on Jaeha so far-
Mt first thought is genuinely how kind he is? Like helping that girl (with hak's help) holding the woman in the brothels hand- doing her nails to help fix it from the drug use. Drinking the Nadai so the women won't get in trouble. Fighting that bear despite Zeno,,, being Zeno. Shielding Gija while Yotaka was swinging- Jaeha is genuinely really kind.
Read the bonus chapter with his back story - he offered to free his predecessor despite Garou beating the shit out of him. What gets me in this chapter is the fact that the main problem is that Jaeha doesn't have his freedom. Doesn't touch on the beating.
So-
My idea is mainly that it's either 1. Just something that happened to him. He internalized it to not be a big deal- or
2. He deserved it. For being cursed. For this entire messed up situation
The cycle continues of the predecessor being freed from their chains verses the newer dragon being chained up until a new green dragon is born thus the cycle of chains and freedom (freedom from the chains not the shitty village)
Still thinking about the idea of Jaeha needing to be useful to "Earn his keep" will ponder more
