Just like last ask, SO SORRY I haven't answered this since March</3

Going by IF, then you have:

Knowing the Isle, the Warriors of Hope would also be there to help raise the baby.

I'm imagining a situation where basically, canon Danganronpa happened but also there's magic with which to trap people on an island with an invisible barrier around it.

The magic can be scientifically-backed if we want; it doesn't have to have a huge impact on the plot. But, Canon Disney Descendants includes in its lore that the villains were dead before being trapped on the island and were brought back to life specifically to punish them, which feels like it would have some impact on Junko.

Is she angry that the Future Foundation ruined her death?

Is she glad that she gets to both endure and cause way more harm than she thought she would?

Death not being permanent would definitely cheapen some stuff for her, but we don't have to deal with that.

I'm thinking maybe the Remnants of Despair aren't on the island, like maybe we're at that point in the timeline where the Future Foundation doesn't know who they are, or maybe we're after that and the Future Foundation just doesn't know where they are.

Maybe the Isle is Jabberwock, because that's where the Remnants were, so the Future Foundation intends to round them up there as soon as they can catch them. Maybe a couple of them have been caught, etc.

There are a lot of ways the timeline can shake out, and honestly I really want a version of this scenario where at some point the Future Foundation quietly sends Makoto to the Isle. Publicly, they're like, "The Ultimate Hope is taking a vacation," but really they've sent him to the Isle in an attempt to basically re-traumatize him into shutting up about their human rights violations.

Like, "Oh, you want to advocate for those people so much? Try living with them for a week. You'll be begging us to subjugate them more!"

BUT, back to Junko's kid.

Raised by Junko (resurrected or not) and the devoutly Junko-loving Warriors of Hope, I'm imagining that Junko's mood disorder sets in for them pretty young. Junko actually doesn't do anything to nudge that along; she just kind of watches the child's bright, brilliant fascination with everything turn to an inescapable boredom by, idk, somewhere in the 7-9 years old range.

(I haven't found a graceful place to mention this, but Monaca is really jealous of this kid. She hides it behind a sweet disposition, but she is deeply resentful and toxic towards the child. That said, I'm also thinking Monaca got a huge say in naming them. And I'm thinking Monaca urged Junko to name the child Komaru. Yeah, it's a girl.)

Junko, who up til then has only shown a fairly bombastic personality to her daughter, notices when the child silently observes the mask she's putting on. So, one night, she drops it.

She's just sitting on the couch, staring deadly out a window. Her daughter goes to silently sit next to her. They have a pretty candid conversation about how dull everything feels. Junko is casually saying really mean stuff she's never said before; despite living on and island filled with villains, her daughter was doted on by Junko and the Warriors of Hope for years. (Mukuro did her best. She was affectionate, but it didn't come across as doting.) But now, after years of "You're the best thing I ever did"-type Mom Talk, Junko is very frankly telling her, "You were a means to an end more than anything. Honestly, Monaca was a more impressive candidate, but circumstances didn't favor her. You'll suffice, if you can weather the boredom without killing yourself. If not, then I guess it's back to Monaca."

It's her initiation into despair.

Whatever's left of Baby Komaru's sentimental feelings is overloaded by her mother's sudden negativity. She goes to bed with a vague ache in her heart, but it's more emotion that she's felt in like a month. She cries herself to sleep.

Junko's daughter does not take to despair, ideologically.

Her mother already did despair.

She's bored with badness, living on the Isle of the Lost. Everyone around her takes solace in their meaningless transgressions, their violence and their cruelty, but it's all so boring.

Oh, she participates and excels in despair as a pragmatic means of gaining status in her family and community. Being the new Ultimate Despair just has too many benefits. But when she needs something to interest her, she watches the old treason trial of the Ultimate Hope, or the last trial of the killing school life, or the coverage of semi-secret disciplinary hearings at the Future Foundation.

She's fascinated by the Future Foundation: a group dedicated to hope but scared of it. She studies what she can of their bureaucratic procedures, their leadership, their policies. She studies their official definitions of hope and despair, and she studies every time the Ultimate Hope and Ultimate Despair exceed those tiny definitions.

If Makoto gets sent to the Isle as a disciplinary scared-straight measure (presumably with someone watching to make sure he isn't killed, or maybe they just had him film a retirement video ahead of time just so they can air it if he dies), Baby Komaru will know about it, even though it wasn't made public knowledge. She's studied the Future Foundation enough to know what they're willing to do.

She asks Big Sis Kotoko (or Big Bro Masaru) to capture the Ultimate Hope for her.

Now Makoto's the prisoner of this twelve-year-old daughter of Junko.
