#Repost @yogaprasad_institute (@get_repost) ・・・ ASANA: RISK - BENEFIT Going deep through a stretch is not the only objective of doing an asana. The depth should be assessed by an honest Risk v/s Benefit analysis. If going deep compromises safety then that depth should be restrained. We are conditioned in modern Yoga culture to look at asana unidimensionally. We tend to look at asana practice as a pursuit of flexibility and therefore think stretching more is better. But if your asana practice compromises ease of breath, focus of attention and sense of effortlessness solely to increase the ‘depth’ of the pose, then such a view needs to be changed . Let’s face it, our self-esteem is very closely attached to our “performance” in an asana practice. The asana practice should not become a pursuit of doing just another compensatory action to lift up a sagging self-esteem. The objective of asana practice is to go deeper in self-awareness through attention and not just to go deep in the pose through stretching. Learn to “enjoy” the discomfort (not pain) effortlessly and work with acceptance instead of focusing on reaching just another pre-established point. Let your asana practice be a patient journey and not a desperate pursuit. . . #yogafitness #yogini #yogateacherlife #yogateachertraining #yogapose #yogaposture #vamadevasana #yogainjury#yogiintro #masteryogi #yogimaster#indiayogi #yog #yoga #yogateacher #PARSHVAPADASAN
