I have been lucky to shoot some of the world's biggest female pop stars, they always leave me in awe… CASE #14~ Shakira for YM cover 2001 ish. Shakira had just started exploding on the music scene in the USA, and I was lucky enough to shoot her. Rented an amazing house on Santa Monica beach, perfect winter in LA kind of day. Sun riding low on the horizon for hours, thu’s this perfect reflection on the waves behind her. She spoke of how nice it was that she could walk the streets in LA and not be recognized, for in South America she was already a huge pop star, and would get mobed. I think that all changed soon after this shoot.
