MONIQUE RYAN. Thrilled to have the photographed the badass treasurer slayer herself again for today’s cover of @goodweekendmag. I had the honour of shooting Monique’s campaign photo all those months ago in late 2021, and it was such a surreal moment shooting this cover, like we’d come a full circle. One minute Mon was bustling into her house in her scrubs (she’d just come from her job as a doctor), next minute we’re at @sunstudios with hair and makeup artists tweaking her “unelectable hair” and stylists draping her in teal fabric (not, please note turquoise). I kept imagining a *record scratch* “you’re probably wondering how i got here” tv show style cut. Anyway. How awesome. Out today in the SMH and GW. Brilliant creative direction as always from @timbeor, and beautiful hair and makeup from @mariagullace. The internet just reminded me of when we spent a few days last year with @lovestrangelove and shot a LOT of drinks and cool still lifes. I can’t remember if it was two days or three days, but i do remember that lockdown was called halfway through and due to some loophole we were incredulously able to finish the job. Then i got to take quite a few bottles home and we drank Strangelove cocktails for weeks afterwards. Styling by qween @bridget_wald, assist by the iron wolf @anchorandhopephotography.
