One of my kind of default ones if I'm struggling with silliness is "I'm going to commit a felony" as a starting point bc then I forget about disliking myself/ my situation in favor of "Which felony, tho? Which felonies could I do without guilt? Is this felony appropriate for the problem? Is that action even a felony or just a crime?" etc. Obviously I do not commit the felony.

It really works as one of those. Instead of trying to just stop a thought/ behavior, replace it with a better thought/ behavior. Cool discussion, thank you!

So in one of my Villain Deku fics, Dabi’s a big player and of course I wanted him being a Todoroki to be the subplot, but that meant figuring out how he was related to Shouto since...that information isn’t out yet.

But mostly I wanted to get him in there without erasing the other two unnamed brothers & keeping Dabi still in his late teens/early twenties at the oldest.

My Solution? I made him the White Haired guy’s twin.

Me: “Get it!? They were Fire and Ice in the same womb. So close and yet so far from what Endeavor wanted so they get ignored extra hard as failures. Dabi took it the worst ‘cause he had Dad’s Quirk and is the oldest son.”

My brother goes:

“Why don’t you just make Dabi Todoroki’s cousin on his Dad’s side? That way you don’t even have to bother. Just make up an Uncle for Shouto.”

And I was like “I already did the Twin thing so I’m not taking it back, but man I wish I had thought of that.”

*evil cackling*

So like, I finally remembered that you can install Steam games on more than one computer (you just can’t be logged in on more than one at a time) and the main reason I’ve never put it on my laptop is because 1) it’s not a very powerful laptop, 2) it doesn’t have a big hard drive and 3) I don’t have a mouse.

But I was in the mood to play Stardew and my main computer is busted and so I went “What the heck.” And when I hit “Load” all 3 of my saves were there.
