Welcome to the Year of Sapientia!
Nox and Angelus both hope you have enjoyed all of their events that have occurred over the past month; however, it is time they passed the proverbial torch to our Goddess of Wisdom, Sapientia! Our clever (and slightly quirky) gray mare is ready to take center stage once more.
First off, Sapientia's discovered her collection of artifacts has grown quite low since her last year, and she would very much like to replenish her supply. If you pick them up while exploring, she welcomes you to her shop, where you can exchange them for a variety of goodies. You will be able to pick up a total of 30 per day. Those artifacts are heavy, and Sapienta doesn’t want to weigh anyone down! She will appear on the location page and can be found from any space on the map. Her assistant, Sophia, is ready to sell you a bunch of goodies! This event will last all of February.
Let’s get into those aforementioned goodies, shall we?
First, we have Sapientia’s Secret, which will allow you to resurrect a retired horse from the dead! This character’s fertility will be set to 0, so he/she won’t be able to breed or pray for a foal, and AP will be reduced. If you resurrect a stallion who previously did not take up a stallion slot, he will do so now. So be careful!
Sapientia is feeling especially generous this year, so she’d like to introduce to you a brand new item called the Infinitum Canen. She’s heard a few whispers of folks wanting to freeze certain graying stages...now she’s granting that wish! This item can be used on any horse, any age. Before application, you’ll have the option to preview different shades. The graying gene is not needed, and the effects of the Infinitum Canen are permanent. Bloody Shoulder also interacts with this item, and Tinguo lays over it (as do other markings!). You can also fiddle around with the item in the Custom Previewer. (Note: there may be a few missing markings for a day or two while we straighten them out, especially on foals. We'll get these done ASAP!)
She also brings the residents of Ortus a new tinguo: Fleabitten, which will be available in her shop on the location page. Not only does this lighten the coat, it gives it a lovely speckled texture!
During one of her many lifetimes, Sapientia lived as a donkey on Sidus. While there, she learned of the deep love of the River Heira, and felt the strong spirit that the River embodied. Through this lifetime, she learned much of the ways of the plucky horses and donkeys that lived on the island, but more than that, she also taught Heira of the ways of Ortus, and of her family.
To commemorate that lifetime, Sapientia has traveled far to the island of Sidus to bring one of its most recognizable reptilian critters to Ortus, the Decaspiri Snake. This slithering animal is well-respected by equines on Sidus for its wisdom and knowledge, as it lives longer than any mortal horse in all of Paradisus. An insta-companion item will be available for purchase with artifacts from Sapientia.
Finally, we have the ever popular Heira’s Renewal, which reduces the age of a horse over four by one year. You can use up to two of this item on any one character. Sapientia recognizes that while everyone would love another lifetime, sometimes you just want a little longer with the one you have.
(Psst. We'll have a little extra lore about Heira to share soon! Oh, and the Mark of Lar will be going in the Chrysos Shop for this month too! )
ONE LAST THING. All Twilight Owls as participation prizes from Nox and Angelus’s creative events have been distributed, and the results will be posted within the next couple days (along with the winners of the raffle)! You all did fantastic jobs, and we were super impressed! We're just over worked and need a little time to sleep. :)
That’s all for now! Keep an eye on the news for contest and raffle winners! And one last reminder - the donation tree is permanent! Keep using it to share goodies with your fellow Indomitans (and check for special goodies dropped there by staff once in a while.)
