By 1938 Superman, you mean Jerry and Joe's Superman? Fine with me. I'll take that over Snyder's Sulkman. You're forgetting this is a teaser trailer. We haven't seen the full one yet. The whole point of seeing Superman bruised is to get people wondering "Who could do this to Superman?" That's how you get them interested. The public at large don't read Superman like we do. We've had decades of Characters like Deadpool, Thor, Wolverine, GotG etc. It's going to take a lot to get people into The Amazing Stranger from The Planet Krypton again. Gunn is doing everything he can. Supes is in the f*king logo intro for crying out loud! That's gotta put a smile on your face! And from what Ive seen, people are interested. Excited. I've seen people moved to tears by the trailer. People want a Superman movie.
And let's be real here. You think DC/WB is going to out of the blue just decide to toss a Lois Lane out the window? A character who has been a part of the Superman mythos since the beginning? Who'd they replace her with? Lori Lemaris? Look you know damn well that I love Superman and Wonder Woman. I wouldn't have followed you for near a decade if I didn't. But come on. You really want to see Diana just randomly pop up in the movie as Clark's main squeeze? That may get you and me in the theater but everyone else.
You're right. I don't understand. I don't understand how you can be a fan but never support anything new with the character. You didn't like CW'S Superman and Lois. You don't like My Adventures with Superman. You're not even the least bit excited for DCU Superman. I don't get it. I know you've wanted Clark to spend more time in space. Have you read Superman: Lost? Superman: Up in the Sky?

When I refer to 1938 Supes I mean the structure, which hasn't changed: Smallville, Lois, The Planet, Metropolis, Luthor. What changed is Superman used to be a hero worried by social issues, who standed against the powerful in defense of the little man. I wish I've seen more of that. I wish I've seen some evolution of that Superman. Since he's trapped by the same format, the same vicious circle, he can't evolve. You've mentioned some Marvel heroes. Have you noticed those heroes went to outer space and other dimensions? Have you noticed Superman's only been in Metropolis and Smallville? The times he went around the World were mostly to rescue Lois from some shit she got herself into? Or to turn back time to resurrect who...? YES!: Lois!
Let's not forget the times he gave up his powers to be with her. Do you want to see more of that Superman? Me? Not so much.
People often throw in my face Snyder's Superman. I don't like Snyder's Superman. At all. The only "positive" thing is the absence of the red trunks, but only that. Not enough. The format was still the same as always. No evolution. Even worst: he made Batso defeat Kal-El. Yay!
You said people is expecting Superman. That Superman? Maybe. If DC/Warner would've done something to favor the evolution of the hero throughout the years, 86 years, people may be expecting something else, something more. They killed Superman so many times, people is expecting Superman to die at some point, so they won't ask: who could've done that to Superman? Answer: Anyone!
People is not stupid, unless treated like that. Back to Marvel: do you think the Multiverse or the Quantumverse are easy concepts? Yet, people understood and accepted them when presented in an exciting format they could digest. It didn't take them 86 years, only a few movies. DC/Warner didn't even try that with Superman. Remember "Back to the Future"? Oh, the intricacies of time travel and how well they presented them. And it was a comedy, for crying out loud!!! DC/Warner didn't even try that with Supes.
