was curious what your art of the deer with a target over both their heads meant- and also if it was relevant that they were both does
absolutely gorgeous work <3
for me, it's a symbolic portrayal of hardships in a relationship that's never meant to be, influenced by the outside factors and some circumstances that can happen during the course of said relationship that can push it to its limits or show that sometimes love is not enough for it to survive. it's this "star-crossed lovers" type of situation where two people can't be together for reasons that are beyond their control, they are "doomed" from the beginning.
i also wanted to capture the sad reality of being in a queer relationship in a judgmental, homophobic society, hence, i'm moving to the question about two does.
it wasn't exactly intentional or personal in a way that i can relate to lesbian love since i'm a gay man, although the general idea and experiences can be similar, cause after all i just wanted to emphasize the significance of it being a queer love, as i've mentioned before
it's sort of a second part to a piece i've drawn some time ago, where i portrayed two bucks (https://www.tumblr.com/swagvo1d/783715693143228416/they-took-you-from-me) but i didn't want to replicate the same exact feeling (though i aimed for something similar) so i went with does this time
