My opinion on Ash’s Kalos League battle...
I‘m honestly rooting for my homeboy to pull off the victory tomorrow. The XY series has broken alot of recurring trends that plagued the older series. A big trend that worries me however is the trend that every league so far with the exception of the Orange League is that the writers have introduced a rival into the show with the SOLE PURPOSE OF DEFEATING ASH IN THE LEAGUE. Richie was the only somewhat exception to this since it was Charizard who refused to battle that cost Ash the match but at the same time, Richie had only been introduced in the previous episode. Harrison, Tyson, Tobias, and that joke Cameron were all introduced right before the league started and proceeded to defeat Ash in the league. Hopefully XY breaks this recurring trend by Ash defeating Alain. I mean why can’t XY be the series he finally is victorious? After all, XY was the first series to have Ash evolve a water starter, NOT capture the grass starter, give Ash a pseudo-legendary, have a released pokemon actually rejoin his team, etc. Annnnnnnd, have him make it to the final round. I’m crossing my fingers that the title “Kalos League Victory” means that Ash will finally achieve something he’s worked so hard for. Then after, we can enjoy the Team Flare arc :)
Binged watched the latest episodes of the XY Anime up until XY&Z and from what they’re implying in the new opening, you need both 50% Zygardes to make the complete one, and while a 50% is already roaming free, the other is a teeny little glob ball named “Puni” (or Squishy).
It didn’t take long for me to wonder if one of them had a red spot, if the other was just the same but with a blue spot, considering what Zygarde Perfect looks like.
