This was he only prototype completed. The project originally started as a long-range escort fighter but during development, the roles of low-level strike, photo reconnaissance and high altitude fighter were studied. The Allison V-3420 24 cylinder liquid-cooled engine was selected as the power plant but the aircraft never entered production. Only 25 test flights were completed before the project was cancelled
