ok so i dont think this discourse is happening on tumblr, but im reporting from the frontlines of X-men twitter. people are fighting about jean and storm's casting, specifically wether storm's actress should be older than jean's actress when they are close in age in the comics. and like... as long as they look the same age, why the fuck do we care? does no one remember when grown adults were playing highschoolers and we were like 'yeah close enough'? like yeah obviously i dont want a visibly 50 year old Storm and a 24 year old Jean but if they can both look the same age, i dont care how old the actresses are.
