Authors Note- can we tell I hate writing battle scenes 😅 As always, remember to have a good day and take care of yourself, Lovelies. You are important and you matter more then you may ever know 💙
The second day of actual classes brought Class Representative elections- of which there was a lot of back and forth and arguing. But eventually the issue was solved resulting in Iida being representative, and Yaoyorozu being the vice representative. Although everyone was disappointed with not receiving the roll themselves, the majority of the class understood that those two were probably the best students to pick for the roll.
It was now the third day of school, and the class was taking a trip to the USJ facility for rescue training. Everyone has bright smiles on their faces as we approach the grounds. You are standing between Katsuki and Kirishima while Thirteen explains a little bit about the areas and what today’s goal is in training.
“Ok class,” they begin, “This is the Unforeseen Simulation Joint- also known as the USJ.” The space hero motions to the space around them. “Today you will be going through several different natural disaster simulations to learn how to use your quirks and strengths to help save people in dangerous situations.”
The hero continues on a little bit, answering questions and explaining a little more on what will be happening. Mr. Aizawa has just finished answering a question on All Might’s where abouts when out of nowhere a dark and hazy mist begins to spread in the plaza ahead of your group, and out of it a plethora of villains begin to tumble. At first you, and some of your classmates, think this is simply a part of the drill, but one look towards your teachers is enough to know that this is the real thing. The USJ training grounds, and your class, is under attack.
“Protect the students and get them out of here!” Aizawa calls out to the other teacher as he rushes out into the battle, defeating the foes and quickly thwarting their plans. The hazy mist appears before the class once more, and without missing a beat Kirishima and Katsuki rush in to attack them/it. You follow shortly behind them, attempting to use your quirk on the human mist but to no avail.
“DIE!” The explosive boy shouts as the dancing light of his quirk shoots from his palms. That’s when some of the other students join in on the attack. It isn’t long before the misty villain warps a majority of the students into different areas.
It’s a weird sensation, one moment you are standing on solid ground and the next you are falling through the air praying for a safe landing. A scream is ripped from your mouth as you come sliding across tilted concrete. You look around you to find buildings full of destruction and disarray.
To your left you notice Katsuki and Kirishima have also come to a tumbling stop as the mist disappears. You groan slightly as you straighten- you have company. Villains seem to be pouring in through the door at the commotion your trio made as you landed. There is murder and excitement written on the faces of the people leaking into the area.
Besides you, you hear the familiar crackling of Katsuki’s explosions as he warms up his palms and ready to attack. “Now you’re gonna DIE!” He yells as he rushes towards the villains pouring through the doorway.
You shrink away for a moment but quickly recover, weaving a verse together to cause the rope one of the villains carries to wrap around itself and tie it up. You smirk a little at the irony as Kirishima rushes in to punch some of the villains. “Don’t go too far, we should stick together!” You yell out to a drifting Katsuki who seems to be going farther and farther away.
“Do you want to get caught in the crossfire?” He yells out with a pissed look but stops so you two can get at least in normal talking distance again. The battle rages, wave after wave of villains come but your trio of young heroes never wavers.
At last, there seems to be one last villain standing and Katsuki quickly disposes of her with a right hook to the face. The three of you stand there for a moment, on high alert and panting to catch your breaths.
“We should go help find some of the rest of our classmates.” Eijiro speaks up after a few breaths, standing up all the way and walking towards the door that has a sign saying ‘exit.’ You and Katsuki follow behind him.
“They can handle themselves.” Katsuki says simply, “We should go and find that stupid mist villain.” His frown looks murderous as he opens the door. “What the-” Katsuki stops just in time to avoid falling through the three story drop that lies below, and Kirishima's arms wrap around his waist to pull him back just in case. Where the stairs should be is instead a pile of broken rubble.
“Uhg, just out luck.” Kirishima pouts at the same time that Katsuki, who is surprisingly red in the face, grumbles, “Get your hands off of me.” The red haired boy quickly removes his hands and holds them up in the air between them. “Sorry man,” he apologizes, “What are we doing now?”
“We’re getting out of here and going to beat up some more villains.” Is all Katsuki replies with, so Kirishima looks at you with an exasperated face.
“Katsuki can use his little explosions to lower the three of us to the ground and then we could theoretically easily get to the main plaza from there.” You say, shrugging and looking at your boyfriend with a questioning look.
He does not look happy with this but he speaks up as though he is going to cooperate."I can only carry one of you. The other one is going to have to figure something else out.” He says simply, looking between you and Kirishima.
The boy lights up, a literal light bulb moment, “Bakugo can carry you and you can use your quirk to gently lower me to the ground? If it won't work on me you can use it on my clothes and stuff?” He gives you a shark tooth grin as your face lights up slightly too.
“That could work.” You walk towards Katsuki, arms outstretched. “Now hold me,” you quickly turn around and make a T pose, falling backwards into the blondes arms. He scoffs but effortlessly catches you with an arm around your waist.
“Whatever, do you have a chant already in mind?” He looks to you while he adjusts you to better hold you.
You give him a nod and look at Kirishima with a comforting smile, “Don’t worry, I won’t drop you… hopefully.” The boy now looks slightly worried, but shakes his head and allows a small smile to return to his face.
“I trust you,” is all he says before Katsuki jumps and starts flying you two to the ground. Using little controlled explosions to counteract the force of gravity and slow the fall. You begin to weave your words together, “Clothes of the boy standing there; take him up and into the air; float him down to the fallen stair; and ensure nothing’s hurt, not even a hair.”
The boy lets out a momentary yelp as he is picked up into the air and slowly lowered over the edge. You and Katsuki safely make it to the ground a few moments before he does. He slowly is lowered to the ground from above you like a fairy from a movie, and you let out a giggle at the thought.
“I have to say, that was a great idea Kirishima. I don’t know why I haven’t thought to use clothes to fly like that before.” You say as he lands, giving him a high five before the three of you turn to take off. There is a little bit of rubble blocking the door but before either of you can do anything Katsuki blows it up and is already moving. You chase after, running into a few more villains and quickly taking care of them along the way.
The rest of the battle goes on in a blur. A fight with some strange creature- Nomu as you would learn to call it. All Might and the rest of the pro heroes showing up. Aizawa is bloodied and beaten, Midoriya breaks his arm, and a bunch of other events feel as though they happen at the same time. But quickly enough after the pros arrive the battle comes to an end.
You are out of breath, panting and hands on your knees once the villains have retreated. You failed to capture their leader. But the class and the teachers have caught a decent amount of the petty criminals they brought with them. You and the rest of your class is assured away by Vlad King and some of the other adults and told to meet back at the front where there will be a bus and teacher waiting.
You approach the growing group of students and quickly find angry blonde hair. You walk up to him, unable to muster your usual smile or speed. “We're missing some people.” You point out to no one in particular and Kirishima responds. “Midoriya is still in there with some injuries being tended to.” His face is worried and his tone is down, but he wears a weary smile anyways. And you find that it gives you the strength to muster up a tiny one of your own, which seems to only strengthen his.
“Well, we survived our first encounter with villains.” You say as you look at the group, then to Katsuki giving him a tired smile. The group goes on to discuss the happenings of the incident and where they were with the class and the police who have recently arrived. Some are being given medical attention and small bandages, you included for several cuts and scrapes you obtained during the fight, including a nasty gash across your bicep that you're told to keep an eye on. Your throat is a bit scratchy from all of the enchanting you did and you feel a pounding sensation overtaking your head now that the adrenaline has faded, both side effects of overusing your quirk.
As the talk dials down and the class is escorted back to main campus. The bus ride back is mostly quiet with a little bit of chatter here and there. Once the group has made it back to the campus you all begin to unload and walk back to the building to go change. Katsuki turns towards you. “How’s the head?” He all but whispers, poking you in the side to ensure your attention (or just to provoke you). You quickly swat his hand away, “I feel the ache, but I’ll live. You smell extra sweaty though.” You say, playfully pushing him away and holding your nose.
He scoffs at you before closing the space once more, his body heat radiating into yours. “Yeah well I was actually working hard to fight.” His words lack any real bite after how long you have known him for. Kirishima; however, seems to feel inclined to protect your honor.
“I don’t know man,” he tosses you a conspiratory glance, “I think she worked way harder than you. And look at her, she’s so cool that she did so while barely breaking a sweat.” He gestures to your figure, very much sweaty and very much dirty. You laugh as Katsuki sends him a death glare, and then one to you at the sound of your laughter. But that only seems to fuel it as Ashido approaches.
“Careful guys, you’ll hurt his little man ego.” She gives a little screech as she quickly dodges out of Katsuki’s grasp to grab her. You take the outstretched hand into your own, giving him an innocent smile when his glares become aimed at you once more. He mumbles under his breath something about useless extras but seems to quiet down slightly.
Kaminari on the other hand is prepared to have a field day with this. “Awww, Bakugo is being such a good boy for L/N. We should call her the Bakugo whisperer.” The anger and pure rage seems to consume the aforementioned blonde once more, ruining all of your hard work of subduing the raging boy. You blush slightly and let go of his hand while he chases after the electric boy.
You look towards the two, chasing and being chased, and call out to the boy, “You did this to yourself!” As Bakugo hurls insults and retort after retort while physically sparing no mercy. You turn to Kirishima, “How long do you think this will take?” you ask, yet another conspiratorial smile on both of your faces.
“I give it seven minutes.” He responds confidently, and you think for a little bit before answering back. “I bet 1600 yen in four minutes.” You call back confidently, holding out your hand to shake and seal the deal. Kirishima accepts, shaking your hand and watching the two fighting with hopefilled eyes.
“Hey, I wanna join.” Ashido pops up between the two of you, “My bet is on five minutes and thirty seconds exactly.” She calls out, watching as Katsuki doesn’t look to be anywhere near ending his relentless, and self inflicted, attacks on the not so innocent boy. “Deal,” you and Kirishima both hold out your hands to shake hers. She crosses her arms to shake your hands, her left arm going to the right where Kirishima is and her right arm going to the left where you are.
You watch as the minutes of their little argument nears four. At the three minute mark you take your hair tie off and put it in your pocket. Kirishima glances your way, but thinks nothing of it. That is until you call out, “Hey Katsuki.” He pauses his abuse of Kaminari to look at you. “Do you have an extra hair tie? Mine seems to have broken.”
His gaze towards you turns into a glare, “Do I look like some sort of backpack,” but his words contradict his actions as he releases the yellow and black haired boy and walks up to you. “I don’t carry shit for you 24/7.” He takes a small band off of his wrist and throws it to you, “And I’m not some servant you can damn order around as you please.”
You give a satisfied look and in a sing-song tone say, “Thank you,” to Katsuki as you tie your hair up into a quick and secure-ish hair do. You look at the bewildered Kirishima and Ashido, who look wholly betrayed, and hold out a hand, “Pay up.” You smile innocently as Ashido scoffs.
“Well that isn’t fair!” She argues as Kirishima just groans and pulls out his wallet. “You totally cheated. You can’t interfere like that.” You give a proud smirk and Katsuki side eyes your group, and Kaminari cautiously joins the frey once more. The blonde gives you a questioning look, that to anyone else they might read as judgement, and you just shrug.
“We never said anything in the rules about that.” you shake your outstretched hand expectedly as Kirishima places his money in your hand with a grumble about how un-manly that was. “Good thing I’m not a man then.” You reply as Ashido mumbles, “It should have gone without saying.” before she too hands you the money. Soon the class, and the accompanying heroes have reached the school and you head into your perspective rooms to change.
Some of the students, like Midoriya, have stayed behind to get healed up. But most of you are free to go at this point after checking in with the teachers and police to make sure they have all of the information they need. You meet with Katsuki outside of the changing rooms and begin to head home. As you begin your walk you lace your fingers through his and walk in almost complete silence. You talk a little bit, but for the most part the two of you are too tired to keep up a steady conversation.
But the silence is never awkward, it’s rather almost comforting. “See ya later then.” You wave slowly as your hands detach and you make your way to your house. You take a deep breath before opening the door to be met with your worried family. Mother and father with tears in their eyes and sighing in relief as they see you entering the house.
You’re brought into a giant hug from your family, and they immediately start asking questions. “Are you injured?” “Were you scared?” “What all happened?” You try to answer their questions carefully and after what feels like far too long they leave you be. You eat dinner quickly and then excuse yourself to your room. Sighing, you plop down on your phone and find a text from Katsuki.
You smile at your phone, plugging it in and putting it down. You tuck yourself into bed and think about all that transpired today. Thoughts of your first battle with real villains, an invasion of UA, and other unexpected events float through your mind as you struggle to let sleep find you. Eventually it does, and you embrace it with open arms as you let your eyes close and thoughts recede into flashing images and a fitful sleep.
