It wasnât unusual for you to be roaming the grounds late at night.
In fact, it had become something of a ritualâan instinct more than a plan, something stitched into your routine without you ever deciding it. The forest always felt more alive once the rest of the castle fell asleep, the air cooler, the trees older, the world quieter in a way that let your thoughts breathe.Â

The golden-amber liquid swirls gently inside the cup as Remus shifts his wrist absent-mindedly. When he brings it up to his lips, it burns as it touches his skin and he can feel it trail all the way down his esophagus and into his stomach. He takes another sip, hissing as the burning intensifies. His eyes are distant, two fingers rubbing at his jaw. His gaze finally finds the street below, puddles reflecting moonlight, interrupted by fat raindrops.Â
Itâs rained every day since his father died.Â
Itâs not long before he can hear the signature jingle of keys at the door to the apartment, an all-too-familiar grunt as the door is pushed open. Remus leans his head back against the wooden frame of the chair, and he hears the moment Sirius sees his things. Everything goes silent for a second, and then thereâs quick footsteps dashing until heâs standing in front of Remus.Â
âWell?â Siriusâ eyes are already red-rimmed and full of fury, his fingers clenching into fists at his side. Remus knows his lover is quick to anger, and he himself would be no exception to this, especially when Sirius likely feels he was practically abandoned. âWhere the hell have you been, then?â

âAgain.âÂ
Remusâ voice is steady as a drum, even though theyâve been at it for hours.Â
âOh, come on,â Sirius groans from the recording booth. âThat one was fine!âÂ
âYou were too quiet.â
âBut I thought you liked it when I was loudââ
A buzz sounds as Remus turns a knob on the switchboard, silencing Siriusâ whining. The entire world outside of the control room goes mute, and you watch Sirius put his headphones back on and give Remus a reluctant thumbs-up.Â
âHeâs such a drama queen,â Remus mutters, leaning into the smaller microphone on the production desk. âFrom the top.â
The tape starts again, the click-click-click of the reel scratching something in your brain that makes you lean your head back into Remusâ shoulder. The red recording light turns on, and Sirius starts to sing again.
You have no idea what time it is â there arenât any windows in the recording studio, so the entire space takes on a permanently dusky appearance. The walls are a sandy colour, blurring in and out of focus against the smoke drifting from the joint between your fingers.Â
James and Peter left maybe an hour ago, the only evidence of their presence being the empty Coca-Cola bottles strewn around Peterâs drum set and the five guitars placed on the floor like a druidâs stone circle.Â
Youâve been making your way through a six-pack and picking at the leftover McDonaldâs that Marlene had dropped by earlier. At some point, youâd gravitated into Remusâ lap, and now youâre curled into his side like a denim-clad cat.
âPass that here, would you, love?â
You pass your joint over to him, and Remus swipes his thumb over your wrist in thanks.
âFinish your fries,â he says, without looking up from the mixing desk.
âIâm not hungry.â
âYou havenât eaten anything today.â
âI ate, like, a pack of Oreos.â
He turns to look at you with an unimpressed expression.
âAnd like, six beers.â you continue, hands raised in defence. âThey have carbohydrates.â
His face doesnât move, eyes aggravatingly firm beneath the fringe of his straw-coloured hair.
âYou should be a teacher, yâknow.â you tease. âYouâve got that passive-aggressive look down to a teaâ OW!âÂ
Remus has pinched your thigh. You swat him in the chest, and he turns back towards the mixing desk.
âDonât hit me,â he says, âIâm working.â
âOh, so you can physically assault me, but I canât defend myself?â
âEat your fries.â
You huff, snatching the joint back off of Remus and making a show of stuffing salty fries into your mouth. If he notices, he doesnât rise to it, proceeding to unplug a wire and reinsert it somewhere else with a satisfying click. His hands are so big that itâs quite impressive how deftly he can make his way around a switchboard, with its fiddly wires and knobs.Â
âDo you think it needs another track?â
You shake your head, mouth full of fries. âNah.â
At first, Remus had just thought you were another one of Siriusâ tour-wives, but heâd started warming to you when he realised youâd learned a thing or two about music production after hanging out around musicians for so long. He really warmed to you after you sucked his dick backstage last year, but that had come a few months later.
When exactly he became the sort of person who made sure you finished your fries, you arenât entirely sure.Â
He hums in approval when you throw the empty bag of fries in front of him. âGood.â
You crack open another can of beer.
âYou sure you donât want one?â
He shakes his head, nodding to the fifth cup of tea heâs drunk in the past hour.
Your gaze returns to Sirius as you take another sip. Heâs wearing one your sequinned blouses, cropped at the waist on his long pale torso, and a pair of velvet trousers that hang dangerously low on his hips. His whole body ebbs and flows as he shakes the maracas heâs holding, hair falling like liquid obsidian beneath the low studio light.
His head angles back when he gets to the bridge, and you have to stifle a moan. He makes the same expression during sex. Thereâs something in the way his eyebrows pinch, almost as though heâs in pain â itâs the sexiest thing youâve ever seen.
Or maybe you and Remus are both just masochists.Â
The thought makes you laugh so hard that beer starts streaming out of your nose.
Remus frowns âWhatâs so funny?â
âMe.â You shrug, licking your lips clean of foam. âIâm hilarious.â
âYouâre getting to be worse than him, you know.â
âHey!â
He lets you whack him in the shoulder this time, before reaching his left arm around you so that his hand can find a home beneath the undone fly of your denim shorts. The wool of his fishermanâs jumper is warm against your thigh, and you lean further back into his chest.Â
You twist your head against the side of his neck, mumbling into his warm skin: âCan I have a kiss?"
âIâm working.â
âBut I finished my fries.â
He takes a long drag of the joint, before turning and leaning in to breathe it in between your lips. The taste of tea and lemon sherberts greets your tongue when you lick inside of his mouth.
âWhoa, can we keep it PG in there, please?â
Remus groans with frustration at the sound of Siriusâ panicked voice. You giggle at his stance in the recording booth; hands on his hips as he stares at the two of you accusingly.
Remus leans into the mic. âYou just wasted that entire take, mate.â
âDonât call me mate. I can see your hands down herââ
Remus turns Siriusâ voice off again with a flick of a switch, laughing to himself quietly. âFrom the top.â
You think that you can make out the words dick-head and bell-end behind Siriusâ lips, but you canât be entirely sure. The recording light flashes on again, and the track starts over.
âSâfucking ridiculous,â Remus says, pressing another button as Sirius begins singing again. âHe doesnât understand that tapes cost money.â
âI donât think Sirius understands anything about money,â you whisper conspiratorially into his ear.Â
Remusâ hums in agreement, and his hand starts to move beneath your shorts.
**Itâs innocent at first â lazy circles that make you feel as though your heart has sunk between your legs. But then they slide under the elastic band of your underwear, and you let out a yelp.Â
âWhat are you doing?âÂ
âNothing.â he says, taking the joint from you and going back to fiddling with the mixing desk with his free hand. âJust showing him what happens when he wastes studio time.â
âAnd you call us childishââ
Youâre cut off when his thumb rubs over a particularly sensitive part of you and your head falls back against his shoulder. The warning look he gets from Sirius only seems to spur him on, and he pushes two fingers inside you down to the knuckle.
The beer can crinkles in your hand.
âDonât splash that onto the switchboard,â he says.
âYouâre making thatââ you moan when his fingers make a particularly wet sound âYouâre making that kinda difficult, here, man.â
Still, with a wobbly hand, you place the beer can onto the mixing desk. Itâs just as wellâ as soon as your hand is free of the offending can, the heel of Remusâ palm starts pushing against your clit and your back arches, your body bent like a violin bow and straining in his hold.
Your voice comes out hoarse: âIâm going to come.âÂ
âLook at him.â
âI canâtââ
âLook at him, or Iâll stop.â
âOh, fuck youââ
You open your eyes just enough to make out Sirius staring murderously at the two of you, shaking his maracas with fury before your vision is clouded with stars.**
When you come to Remus is winding up the reel, and Sirius has disappeared from the recording booth.Â
Sirius opens the door with force, red-faced and panting.
âWhat the fuck did I do to deserve that?â
âYou wasted a reel.â Remus says, wiping his fingers on his trousers and leaving a wet patch on the wool. âAnd Y/N finished her fries.â
âHer fries?â Sirius looks incredulous. âIâve been slaving away for hours, and you get her off because she finished her bloody fries?â
âDonât be so dramatic.â
âYouâre a sick man,â he huffs to himself, snatching the joint out of Remus fingers, before storming off back towards the door.
âWhere are you going?âÂ
âWe are going back to the hotel. Itâs my turn. Bloody fries. I never should have introduced you two to each other.â

âRemmy, Remmy!â you sang, slamming the front door behind you and throwing your bag to the side.
Remus looked up from working on his computer to see you bounding toward him. He set his work aside just in time for you to jump into his lap and noticed that you had that mischievous little look in your eye again, the look that often meant you were either going to ask him for something, or pull him into your trouble.
Heâd known you long enough to recognize that look. You two had been best friends for, well, forever, and you finally decided to move in together. Since then youâve spent almost all of your spare time with each other in this beat up, low-rent apartment. It wasnât much, but it was home to you and Remus. All you needed was each other really, so it didnât matter where you lived as long as you had him.
âYes Y/N?â he asked.
You smiled down at him from your perch on his lap. âWellâŠâ you started, âYou know that Iâve been talking to those guys, right?â
Remus rolled his eyes and huffed. He had told you numerous times he didnât want to hear about your⊠relations. He especially didnât want to hear about your new possible sugar daddies.
You had mentioned to him that you signed up for an online dating service specifically for rich assholes looking to spoil girls like you. Remus told you that it was sketchy and a bad idea and that you should delete your profile immediately, but you countered that you needed to pay rent and this was a quick way to do so.Â
It didnât take long at all for a profile to match yours. You were nervous, of course, but it was actually really easy to talk to your match. But there was one slight difference in this profile to your average â50 year old man looking to pay a young girl behind his wifeâs backâ type, this was a profile of two men. You thought, hey, double the money right?
The thing was, this service required your profile to be nameless and faceless. You just gave a list of your attributes, interests, skills etc., and then you matched based on that information. This was all probably so that you don't end up with a stalker if things go bad, but this made the match even more mysterious.
All you knew was that this profile was of two mysterious men who had a lot of money that they were willing to spend on you.
Remus loved you, he really did, but not enough to allow you to let creeps use you for whatever reason just so you could make some quick money.
âY/N, love-,â he sighed but you cut him off before he could stop you.
â-Just wait. Hear me out.â
He couldnât say no to those eyes, that cute little look youâre giving him. âFine,â he mumbled.
You perked up and continued. âWell, Iâve been talking to them for a while now and I think they finally want to meet me.âÂ
Remus rested his hands on your waist. He quirked a brow, a silent request for you to continue. Though he really didnât need to hear all of this, he would not interrupt. Remus would always listen to whatever you had to say, no matter what. He could never get you to shut up really.Â
And he loved it.
He loved hearing your daily yapping session about work, your nails, the guy you fucked who was incredibly bad in bed. He could listen to your voice on replay for the rest of his life and never get tired. He would never admit this to you though.
So now, he endured you telling him about your new escapade; being a sugar baby to not only one apparently very wealthy man, but two.
âThey said they want to meet me finallyâŠâ you repeated yourself.
âYes, and?â
âWell,â you started, âthe thing is⊠they kinda want to meet you too.â
Remus blinked up at you once, twice. âWhat?â
âThey wanna.. Meet⊠you.â you said softly.
âI heard what you said,â Remus started, âI meant why?â
You shrugged. âWell, itâs sort of complicated but, I kinda mentioned you. How I live with you and how youâre my best friend,â you looked down fidgeting with your fingers in your lap, perched atop Remusâs. âAnd, I donât know, they just kinda seemed interested. So I kind of said we could both meet up with them.â
âY/N,â he sighed, âThis is⊠I mean-â
â- please Remmy, I need the money.â you interrupted before he could give you a definite ânoâ. âI know you could use the money tooâŠthey'll pay us both.â
If Remus really thought about it, you were right. Money has been a bit tight lately, and if there were two rich creeps were willing to spend their earnings on you two then why shouldnât he take advantage of it? It would certainly make him feel better about the whole thing if he went along with you, not sending you into a lion's den by yourself.Â
âAlright, fine.â Remus sighed.
This caught you off guard, you thought for sure you would have to beg a little longer, maybe bat your lashes to get your way. âWait, really?â
âYes, but there are a few conditions.â Remus said.
You smiled and nodded for him to continue.
âFirst,â he started, âyouâre going to tell me everything you know about these two men.â
âOf course.â
âSecond, if I think this is sketchy or dangerous in any way, Iâm taking you and we are leaving.â He said, not leaving any room for argument.Â
You nodded again, happy that he was going along with your plan.
âOk, now tell me who these men are.â
You shifted off of his lap and sat next to him, Remus throwing his arm over your shoulders to pull you closer to his side. You pulled out his phone to show him their profile.
âI donât know their real names,â you say, âbut the app lets you use things like codenames.â
âOk.. well then, what are their âcodenamesâ?â Remus asked.
âUm, Padfoot and Prongs.âÂ
Remus quirked a brow at the strange names, you offered a shrug in return. You had no clue what the names meant but thatâs what they called themselves so, you just went along with it.
âAnd what are our⊠codenames?â Remus asked. He still felt weird about the whole thing, but he felt like protecting you and, if he was being honest he felt⊠a little exhilarated.
âYours is Moony,â you explained âbecause youâre such an insomniac.â
Remus chuckled at your explanation. âI like to think that Iâm just a night owl.â
âSureâŠâ you joked.
âAnd whatâs yours?â Remus asked.
âI donât have one.â you said quickly and made to leave, but Remus was faster and pulled you back onto the sofa, halfway back on his lap.
âOh no,â he said, âyou donât get to run away. Tell me.â
You shook your head and stuffed your face into the curve of his neck, trying your best to hide from him, make him drop the subject.
âWhat,â he said, voice laced with amusement, âIs it embarrassing or something?â
You whined, shoving your face deeper into him. âA little..â you answered, shifting uncomfortably in his lap. You knew he wouldn't make fun of you, it wasnât you who came up with the name afterall. But it just felt⊠intimate.
You and Remus were no strangers to intimacy. He has spent many a night in your bed, cuddling you and sharing your warmth. Heâs seen you change, heâs heard all about your escapades and fantasies, you've even kissed him a few times. There was really no boundary between the two of you. Well, save for the fact that youâve never been with each other.
Remus is incredibly attractive, thatâs not the issue. Heâs also kind and warm, he would make the perfect boyfriend. You both were just afraid to push that boundary. You were best friends, you could never jeopardize that. So you decided that toeing the line was just fine.Â
âOh come on,â he said, turning your face to look at him, âIâm not gonna make fun of you. You know that. Well⊠I might, just a little.â
You giggled and sighed, giving in. âThey've been calling me⊠Bunny-â
You finished your sentence in a rush and dove back into his neck. You heard him chuckle beneath you.Â
âThatâc cute.â He teased. Whether he was taking pity on you or if he just didnât really care, he moved on from the topic. âYou donât know what they look like? Their ages?âÂ
You shook your head.
That was the scary thrill of it all, the unknown.Â
âAnd what exactly are they expecting from this?â Remus asked, sounding a lot like the âwhat are your intentions with my daughterâ lecturing tone.
âThey just want to meet, thatâs it.â you explained. âThey arenât expecting anything from either of us. I think they wanna see if we're like, a good fit.â
âSo itâs just like⊠a date?â
âYeah,â you replied, âI guess so.â
You were more than relieved that Remus agreed to all of this. Although it may be thrilling, you still understood the dangers that came along with this. At least Remus would be there with you, thatâs what you would continue to tell yourself to get some sort of relief to your anxiety.
Yes, you needed the money, and yes you were happy to take it from two men for doing absolutely nothing but looking pretty.
âAnd when is this?â Remus asked.
âTomorrow night.â you answered.Â

Just as Padfoot and Prongs said, a car was outside, ready to pick you up.
You spent a few hours deciding what you wanted to wear and debating if you wanted to dress Remus as well. You wanted to look good, you want the money after all and looking cute was the job. You could have gone slutty, a tiny skirt or dress that hugged your curves, but from the vibes Padfoot and Prongs described, it was going to be more casual. So you decided on a nicer pair of jeans and your favorite going-out-top.Â
You took a final look in your mirror, deciding that you looked just tempting enough, and walked out of your room to find Remus waiting for you on the living room couch.Â
He looked just as good. But you always thought he looked good, his sense of style was laid back but put together.Â
Remus smiled at you. You could tell he was nervous but, so were you. You felt butterflies all day and now that you were about to start driving over to their place, your heart was pounding.
Remus locked the door to your small apartment behind you and you both made your way downstairs to where your ride was waiting. You grabbed onto Remus's arm and pulled your body close to his. He would keep you safe from anything these strange men could throw at you, and you could breathe easy because of that.
Exiting your building, you were met with a nice black car waiting at the curb for you. A man opened the driverâs side door and made his way around the car to open the door for you and Remus. You had assumed that they had just ordered you two an uber or something, but this was way too expensive of a car to be any type of ride share.
You glanced back at Remus as if to say âare we really doing thisâ one last time. Remus gave you a small smile and nod.
You thanked the man and entered the car. It was much nicer than any car you had ever been in. In fact, you couldnât even name this brand of car, too nice to be in your small wheelhouse of car knowledge.
The leather was so smooth and the backseat so roomy.
You held onto Remusâs hand as the car started moving. You watched out the window, too nervous to focus on anything else.
Remus made some small talk with the driver, whose name was apparently Peter, but you just watched the buildings pass by. Leaving your neighborhood, the car headed for downtown, the lights of the highrises reflecting off the window. The apartments here must be leagues above the one you and Remus live in.Â
The car slowed and pulled into a parking garage of one of these expensive looking buildings. The garage was filled with nice cars just like the one you were in now, rows and rows of cars that each probably cost more than 10 years rent in your place.
The driver pulled into a space, parked, and opened your door for you. He led you and Remus to an elevator door. You hid your shaking hands by grabbing onto Remus yet again.Â
âAll right,â the driver said, âhere you are. Press the top button and you should be there in a moment.â
Remus thanked him and you nodded, still too nervous to speak. Once you stepped in the elevator, Remus pushed the topmost button, the 45th floor. The doors closed and you started the long journey up.
âHoly shit,â you said shakily, âthey live in a penthouse.âÂ
You watched the floor numbers climb, the doors would soon open and you would have to face the trouble you had gotten not only yourself into, but Remus as well.Â
âI donât think I can do this,â you blurted out. Remusâs attention shifted to you. âMaybe we can stop this now and say that I got sick or something.âÂ
âDonât be ridiculous,â He said, âThis was your idea.â
You knew it was, you dragged him into this and now you were chickening out. This was so dangerous⊠and stupid!
Remus could obviously see your internal panic.
âHey,â he said, turning you to face him. âTake a breath.â He waited for you to comply and took one deep breath with you when you did. âOkay, you said it yourself, they seem to really like you, yeah?â
You nodded.
âOkay, then what is there to worry about right now? If anything it should be me worrying, I havenât interacted with them.â He smiled. âAnd besides, Iâm here. Nothing bad is gonna happen. Iâll protect you, you know that.â
And you did. You were so incredibly happy he was here. If it were just you, you wouldnât have even stepped foot into that car. But with Remus, the added layer of comfort and protection boosted your confidence a little. He was right. You sighed and prepared yourself to face these⊠men.
âThatâs my girl,â Remus chuckled and looked back at the elevator doors, soon to open any second now. âNow, let's take these pervs for all theyâre worth, yeah?â
You giggled and the elevator dinged.
⚯ . âș ⊠âč êł âș ⧠⚯. âș ⊠âč . * êł âŠ âč
Floor 45 had only one door. One large, lavish front door to the penthouse you were about to enter.Â
You raised your hand and knocked politely, your stomach doing flips in anticipation, your mouth completely dry. But you werenât going to show any signs of nerves, not when you were about to meet your potential future income.
You waited for all of thirty seconds before the door cracked open.
You were met with someone dressed far too casually to be the owner of this place. He had on red Converse and a red sweater with the name of the college he probably attended written across the chest all paired with a pair of jeans. His hair messy brown curls that made him look fashionably unkempt pinned back by his glasses resting atop his head.Â
He smiled and warmth radiated from him like the sun itself. He was very attractive, pretty tall, maybe around 6â1, still shorter than Remus but someone you might even consider your type. He looked from you to Remus, and his hazel eyes fell back to you.
He was around your age. He must be an assistant or personal chef or-
âHello, Bunny.â He said smoothly.
You about choked on air. How did he⊠was that just like your codename for everyone, like all of their staff knew, oh god⊠does that mean the driver knew.Â
Your mind was racing as fast as your heart beat, but you couldnât just stare at him anymore, he was standing there, waiting for a reply.
âBunny,â you blurted out, your mind still doing the thinking and not realizing your mouth was catching up. âUh sorry, I mean um⊠who am I talking to.â you said, tucking a lock of hair behind your ear, trying to be less awkward. Probably not succeeding. Remus was going to take the piss out of you later, you already knew it.Â
The man in front of you chuckled. âI believe we were going with Prongs.â
Your jaw dropped and you closed it immediately. This was one of the men you were talking to? This man was hot, he could do just fine on any other dating site. And he was your age, he was going to be your sugar daddy?
This was going to be⊠interesting.
âAnd Iâm guessing you must be Moony,â He said, turning his attention to Remus.
âPleasure to meet you,â Remus answered in a tone smooth and almost seductive. How was he being so cool? How is being more cool than you, damnit!?
âCome on in,â Prongs said, opening the door wider and ushering you both in.
You stepped into pure luxury, the entire environment at odds with the kind face that just greeted you at the door. In the living room everything was so sleek and clean, mostly shades of black and white with accents of maroon. Glass windows up to the ceiling, furniture made with what you could only guess was genuine, expensive leather, the floors so polished you could light reflecting off it.
The lights were dimmed and the fireplace was one of the only sources of light in the entire (giant) room. The others being dozens of lit candles scattered about.
âMake yourself at home,â Prongs urged. You didnât know how you could, you were too nervous to sit on any of the furniture, afraid that your poor might rub off on it.
Remus, however, had no such reservations, he made his way into the middle of the living room, plopping himself down on one of the long couches. You smiled nervously at Prongs and scurried over to sit beside Remus.Â
Remus sat back and lounged one arm across the back of the couch, the other he used to set a comforting hand on your thigh, an action that didnât go unnoticed by Prongs.Â
âAre you a drug dealer?â Remus asked outright, surprising Prongs and almost stopping your heart. What is wrong with him?!
Luckily Prongs found it humorous. âI could see how you would think that, but no.â he answered. Remus squinted his eyes subtly, trying to figure him out.Â
How did he make his money? To be this young and afford a place like this⊠it wouldnât be shocking if he were a drug dealer. But if heâs telling the truth, then he must be like a tech billionaire or, inherited a shit-ton of money from a dead grandparent. Perhaps he has a sugar daddy of his ownâŠ
Your thoughts were interrupted by another figure entering the room.
