Upon first arrival Lizzie, Ren, and BigB were in a cell? How was that? Three people in a cell seems like a lot and I wonder how they got along before being put in their proper cells
The three of them got along really well, actually! The cell was a little bit more cramped, but they made it work. Since Lizzie and BigB are both (initially) smaller than Ren, they would share a bed and let Ren have his own. Ren was always protective of Lizzie and B, too, even before the mutations and side effects of the tests.
I’m just now realizing that all of them get prettt significant mutations tk their appearances, aw man :( poor guys.

Joel is a little bit of a songwriter, but he isn’t confident in his singing skills, so he keeps his ideas hidden. One day Lizzie finds them while she’s cleaning and Joel’s out, and most of the songs are about her. :)
Lizzie writes, laughing quietly to herself as the loose leaf is filled with words. Joel, being suspicious of her giggling, peers over her shoulder.
“What’s this?”
“A poem for you,” she says happily, “but it’s not as good as yours.”
Joel blinks, taken aback. “What?”
Lizzie shrugs. “I found some stuff you hid away. I don’t know why you hide them, they’re really good.”
Joel’s face turns red, and he starts stuttering over his words.
“Wha-! You-! I-! LIZZIE-!!”
As for Lizzie and Jimmy, they cliqued instantly. As soon as these two were in a cell together, they were practically clinging to each other, and Jimmy is the one to first say that they’re like siblings.
“Y’know, because of our powers..? They both help us to hide..?” Jimmy watches her, his cheeks burning the longer it takes for Lizzie to respond.
“.. Nevermind, it’s silly. Sorry, I-”
“No it’s not!” Lizzie says, eyes filing with black tears, being deeply touched by his words. “No, you’re my brother now. You can’t take that back.”
Jimmy smiles, his own eyes getting a bit wet. He swallows the lump in his throat, a wobbly smile on his face. “Yeah.. okay.”
What if Joel and Lizzie are so far away from each other because they were put into the lab far away from each other, not because they were captured at different times - they just thought Joel was more important and Lizzie was held somewhere else for a while because of a mix up or they just couldn’t bother? What if they did something to her before they sent her to the lab.
That’s an interesting thought, and I appreciate the suggestion, but I still like the concept of them coming in at different times. Imagine how freaked out Lizzie would have been for the two days that Joel wasn’t showing up to the bakery or answering his phone or door.

I <3 seablings so i am legally required to make them suffer
Jimmy goes invisible when he's anxious, and it doesn't help. He always needs reassurance that he's real, that he hasn't faded away. It's why he's so clingy and needs attention. As a side affect of that fear, he doesn't like when he can't see other people or vice versa.
This clashes horribly with Lizzie's powers, and she tries to comfort him through the darkness. She can see while others are blinded and tries to find him and speak to him. It doesn't always work, but oh well! I'm sure nothing bad will ever happen to them in the evil torture murder facility
(especially not with grian misusing a power that could somehow cause an explosion... ;))
That’s so smart!! I never thought about it that way!! That’s why physical touch could also be a good way to comfort him if her powers are ever going haywire!!
And I’m intrigued on how Grian misusing powers could cause an explosion…
Headcanon that Joel is normally fighting tooth and claw when Lizzie gets taken back for testing but Lizzie just watches in silent pain until one day she sees them hurting him and just loses it. They have to go in and restrain her powers because no one could see anything due to her shadow powers just filling up the room and she gets her first casualty :,)

I can’t remember if I’ve talked about this before, but the two will talk about their partner and crush when things are rough. Lizzie will tell Jimmy about how she met Joel and what they did on their first dates, and Jimmy will tell her about the time he spent with Tango in a cell and how he was so kind and sweet, and he hopes that he can be cell mates with him again if they’re moved around, and no he is not blushing Lizzie shut up-!
Lizzie and Jimmy know how much they like their partner and crush, and this leads them both to have a lot of respect for the other because surely if Lizzie/Jimmy likes Joel/Tango this much, they must be good people.
