23 year old producer and electronic artist, Luka, is serving up some seriously great beats off his debut EP, The Nest. His track "CULT" is chill-wave magic that is downtempo but still danceable. The video for "CULT" takes the viewer on a glitchy, old-timey, digital architectural adventure. In some ways, Luka's sound can be best described by this psychedelic visual representation. If you wanna enjoy some dreamy live tunes, his first live show will be Febraury 26th, at The Lash Pop Up in Hollywood. 

Released earlier this year, Fatima Al Qadiri's debut full length Asiatisch is a "simulated road trip through an imagined China". The album's sound is loosely defined as 'sinogrime', which describes the synthesis of urban and industrial motifs with traditional asian melodies. This unique mix of sounds sounds pretty creepy, as if it should be the score to a horror-drama film. Her track, "Shanghai Freeway" is the penultimate track on her record, and its crazy as heck.

If you’re craving a yummy dose of bubble gum-pop, London trio, Kero Kero Bonito, is what you’re looking for. Sarah Bonito leads the group with her baby vocals and glossy raps, which are performed in both English and Japanese. Their J-pop sound is filled with bleeps and bloops reminiscent of Mario Party 3, and although there is something completely silly and time-warpy about their tracks, KKB is clever and electronically intelligent. They released a mixtape 2 months ago and a new single, “Build it Up”, 2 days ago . Find it all on their SoundCloud.

Maria Neckam, a classically trained singer and musician, is the ethereal voice behind Milán. Her angelic vocals are versatile and she is able to incorporate a wide range of genres and sounds into her music, from classical piano to industrial synths and beats. Her self released and self titled EP comes out on November 11th. You can catch her play at Le Poisson Rogue on November 21st for her EP release show. 

Michigan native and LA inhabitant, Garret Borns, leads indie-pop band BØRNS. Their debut single, “1,000 Emerald Pools”, is heavy with harmony and synths, not to mention, it’s ridiculously catchy. Garret’s voice is androgynous and their sound is weirdly reminiscent of a not-so-sad Beach House. Their EP, “Candy”,  is set to be released on November 11th on Interscope Records. Keep a look out for these guys!

Mindlessly stumbling through the world of Soundcloud led me to discover the sad and soulful tune “Aubrey” by Speelburg. Tom Demac is the mastermind behind this beautifully crafted electronic melody which is accompanied by silky smooth strings and vocals. Demac is an American/Belgian producer who is also an MC and rapper. “Aubrey” is his first and only track, but by the looks of it, he is surely to release new music very soon. Stay tuned.
