I have a lot of current WIPs, so I'll focus on The Shackles of Time for this answer since it's the one I wrote on last.

My favorite scene of it so far is a toss up between the snarky back and forth conversation between Arlen and Cherrenth and Wyndulin's time in The Time Keeper's office.

I like the first because it was a lot of fun to write, and it made me laugh again when I reread it. Personally, I love writing snarky banter. I really do. But, it was also kind of a defining moment for Arlen, a good peak into what his thought process is. Having Cherrenth there is a good foil for Arlen. The cynical, snarky dragon-cat (as @writingonesdreams has affectionately nicknamed him), is an excellent contrast to Arlen's reckless optimism and impulsive choices. I love the dynamic that that scene set between them. I'm honestly looking forward to writing more scenes like it ^^

Wyndulin's time with The Time Keeper, on the other hand, I love for the quiet. It's not nearly as flashy as many of the scenes the story already has, but it had a bigger impact on me, emotionally, than any other scene in The Shackles of Time, thus far. The description of the office, the memories, the history and unspoken stories, and the way it humanized both of them. Two larger than life legends bonding over their shared past mistakes and future worries. Two companions who still remain close, even after all they had lost together. Yet, they still have hope. Hope for our three protagonists, hope for a future where no one has to fight like they did, hope that, despite everything, things might be okay.

So, yeah, those are my favorite scenes thus far, though it's just the beginning so I'm sure there'll be others that will challenge them for that title ^^

 So, since Thursday and Friday are me days, I’ve decided to move my usual weekly incorrect quote madness to mondays! So you can look forward to seeing them again. As usual, they come from this random quote generator and this random quote generator.

The Shackles of Time -

Hey, Leia, good to hear from you ^^ Sorry this took me awhile to answer, but the more I thought about it, the less clear cut the answers were. The more I thought about it, the more I found that several of my characters had something they wouldn't give up. So it's been an interesting character development exercise to think on this.

The Time Keeper, Wyndulin, Riya, and Myria from The Shackles of Time however not only would, but they have. They were willing to sacrifice everything to save their world. Their lives, their friends and allies' lives, their homes, everything. Nothing was off limits when it came to fighting in the Mad War, and they lost much to save the world.

I imagine several members of the Shackles of Time cast would also make the same choices they did. I can't imagine Merle or Night even hesitating before jumping in to save everyone. It's Night's goal to save as many people from Death as she can, and Merle became a warrior knowing full well warriors tend to die young. Arlen might hesitate. He's never had to face Death before he became an adventurer, never really had to think about what that choice means, so I'm not entirely sure where he'd draw that line.

Zephyr and Glenn have already risked their lives repeatedly to save people and I don't see that changing.

Reuven and Kitan would from Forgotten Gods. Reuven a little more readily than Kitan, but once Kitan made up his mind that this was what he wanted to do he wouldn't turn back. Interestingly enough, though, even though the boys are the characters who would give up everything to save people, it was the self-serving character of their little trio, Silver, who spurred them into this sort of action in the story. Her home was under threat and she had had enough so she was going to go deal with it, with or without them, so they went with her. This isn't to say Silver counts for this, she looks after herself first and foremost and if her own life and livelihood wasn't already on the line I'm not sure what she would have done. (To be fair, she probably would have been drug into it by Reuven and Kitan anyways, but still.)

Sparrow would probably give up everything but her friends and family members' lives. That is the one thing she wouldn't bend on. Her own life she'd hesitate a little but she'd still risk it. Hunter is similar in that regard, except it's not hesitation on his part, it's just exploring his options. Raina would. Raina absolutely would, particularly if Sparrow was one of the people in danger. She agreed to risk her life over and over again for less, even.

Lierin also would. In fact she's required to by the conditions of a treaty the elves in that world were forced to sign when they lost a war they started. It's expected of her, and all of the elves like her, to make these choices without hesitation.

The Plight of a Sparrow -

What does the perfect world look like to your character? Yours dearly, @catinthesun2

I think the world looks pretty good to Merle, as is. It's safer than what it was in the last generation, no Mad Gods running around and causing chaos, but challenge isn't dead. There's still monsters to fight, still glory to be earned, still a place to carve a name out for one's self. I think the day the world of The Shackles of Time becomes a truly peaceful place will be a sad one for her, because challenge will be dead and warriors will stop dancing in the sparring rings. So, it kind of already is her ideal world. A balance between peace and chaos.

On the flip side of that, The Time Keeper and Wyndulin are looking forward to there eventually being a day when the adventuring guilds are obsolete due to the world being peaceful. At some point in their own adventures, it kind of became a personal goal of theirs to do everything they could so no one else would have to do such dangerous work. They're looking forward to seeing the monsters dead; or at least driven far away from sleepy villages and quiet roads, look forward to the end of bandits' reigns of terror, and look forward to a world where everyone can enjoy a peaceful life.

Not going to lie, it kind of sounds like that husband hit the nail on the head, there XD That's a funny dynamic, I love it.

My random fact is from The Shackles of Time. No one in that world, outside of their family members and the founding members of The Dawn Isle Guild, know what The Time Keeper looks like, despite them being arguably the most famous adventurer of their generation.

They always wore a mask and even used magic to disguise their voice while dealing with outsiders. Ever since the famous battle to seal the Mad God away, they've barely interacted with the outside world at all, choosing to lock themself away in a secret room in the guild hall and manage the guild instead.

There's been several rumors about why the guild master is so secretive about their identity, ranging from the ominous, to the scandalous, to the silly, to the mundane. But these rumors have sparked enough interest that many have gone to great lengths to try to catch even a glimpse of the mysterious mage. Forstblade Wyndulin is always on the look out for prying eyes whenever he goes to meet with the guild master, as many young adventures have tried to follow him to their quarters in the past.
