The time for WUUKY has come again! WUUKY stands for “Western Unitarian Universalist Karmic Youth” and is a week-long camp for UU youth held in the Mendocino Woodlands. 

This year, WUUKY registration will be held online! The registration fee is $270 and the deadline is June 10. Those who register by May 6 will receive $30 off and there is a $50 discount for youth who have never attended a YRUUP event before. If you register after the deadline you will not have a guaranteed spot at WUUKY and the registration fee will be $310. You will also not be eligible for any scholarships or discounts.  After registering, you will receive an email telling you where to mail your registration funds to.

What is WUUKY?

WUUKY stands for Western Unitarian Universalist Karmic Youth, and it refers to a wonderful, fulfilling and fun week-long con-like experience for youth ages 14-20 in the Mendocino Woodlands!

WUUKY 2018 will be held from Monday July 2nd through Sunday July 8th. The time for youth to register is now until June 5th . If a youth wishes to register after that date, we cannot guarantee a spot for them at WUUKY. If youths register by May 17th, $30 will be taken off the registration fee. Registration Deadline is June 16th. If you do not register by June 23rd, you spot is not guarenteed. Because WUUKY is week long and secluded out in the woods, it is extremely important that youth read the safety agreements and especially the packing list.

Unfortunately, early bird registration closed on May 17th. After May 17th and until Registration closes on June 15th, the registration fee for WUUKY will be to $270. The Late Registration fee is $310. Make sure you register early for the discount!

Payment for WUUKY is done beforehand and through mail transactions. You must mail your fee to Kian Van Der Meer, 1432 Walnut Street Alameda, CA 94501

Checks should be made out to NCUUCC.

Scholarships are available. Youths are encouraged to ask if they need one. They can email the current registrar at [email protected] with their requests. If a youth wishes to register after (Reg Deadline), they can email the WUUKY deans ([email protected]) and get on the waiting list (prices go up for late registration!).

If any of you, your churches or your members are willing and able, donations to help our scholarship fund and aid more youth in attending are always greatly appreciated.

We are also always on the lookout for adult advisers to attend so that we can accommodate all of the youth who register. If any adults from your congregations are interested in advising or would like to learn more, please have them email (Adult Co Name) at [email protected]

Registration for WUUKY is a little different. You do not need to register online. Instead you mail your forms (linked above) to Luca. If your registration is mailed by APRIL 15, your WUUKY payment is on a sliding scale from $215-260. After that, it goes up to $250-$295. You must register before MAY 31 or we cannot guarantee you a place at WUUKY. Otherwise, contact us at [email protected] and we will put you on the waiting list. If we are able to let you come, you'll pay $310 at WUUKY. But to ensure that WUUKY can happen in the future, please pay as much as you can, as early as you can! The Camper Letter further detailing this year's activities, rules, directions, etc. will be sent to you when the registrar receives your registration.

Scholarships are available! Please don't hesitate to ask for a scholarship if you need one. Email the WUUKY deans at [email protected] as soon as possible. On the other hand, please consider donating to the scholarship/travel fund if you are able. We want to make WUUKY sUUper accessible!

If you want to be a YELLer (Youth Empowered Lay Leader) at WUUKY then you should contact the deans (Theo, Luca, and Maraena)! YELLers are essentially the different youth leadership at WUKKY and CONS.
