    ❝What did you say?❞ When Merilee tries to speak to her, she raises the volume in her ears but all that does is magnify the noises in the club. Frustrated, she shakes her head and starts pointing to her ears. ❝I can’t hear you!❞

     She raises the chocolate-covered confection just about eye-level, examining the the gaping maw outlined in red icing, bugged out eyes, and and the brightly coloured spiral at the centre of the donut creature’s torso. The little pretzel stick pin was a nice touch, a stake in the heart of a raspberry jelly filling. She plucks out the pretzel stick and chomps down with a smile. ❝So I guess this is part of keeping it weird in Portland, yeah?❞
