I will touch on the other sides in a sec but I really wanna rant about my personal take on Remus's interusive thoughts.

Ssssso about that original thoughts headcannon, Remus's own Intrusive thoughts are typically a very low hum/buzz of constant noise and ideas. However, very often things break out through the noise, or that noise gets louder. The only way to relieve this is to say them outloud.

Sometimes, saying a few of the silly owns aren't enough. Often, when c!thomas is going through particularly rough patch, the noise gets so unbearable Remus gets locked in a kind of trace like state/episode just letting it all flow out of him.

A lot of what he actually says to thomas and the others are the more tame of his thoughts... unless he's intentionally looking for a reaction then some of the heavier hitters are let loose.

I like to think this is all due to how heavily repressed he is by everything. As stated in his intro episode, repressing Intrusive thoughts often only makes them worse.

And When you're told everything you do, think and say are pure evil for the majority of your life. You tend to believe it... and that has influence over your behavior.

Acting out or testing ideas does help relieve some of the noise, and in his own twisted logic if tests all these horribly harmful things out (mostly on himself) then he'll be giving thomas valuable knowledge on how far they'd be able to push things "in the future"

While Remus's thoughts often reflects Thomas's mental state, a lot of it can manifest due to his own struggles. You cannot tell me this man isn't a LEAST a little suicidal. Common thoughts plaguing him which are really just over exaggerated things he's been told by the other sides. He is bother by hurting thomas, the idea of not being needed, the idea of never being wanted... being alone. Being better off never existing in the first place.

he definitely has some bad habits such as biting himself when overwhelmed, nervous or as a general "soothing" thing.

Buuut anyways, on a lighter (eh) note

His affect on the other sides!!

THIs is probably going to mainly center around the other dark sides since they would logically be around him the most.

Janus: Jan is the side who has the most "immunity" to remus. Having spent so much time with the other side, he's learned how to not only regulate himself but help remus through tougher instances of his own thoughts. He usually deals with remus through meeting the other near their level, treating it as it usually is, a joke. Often amused by some of the crazier ideas, although even he has his limits.

Virgil: Ha... so him and Remus were once on fairly good terms. Back when Virgie had his villain arc, and presented as taking joy from the "suffering" he brought. He'd often bounce "what ifs" off of remus, and actually on rare occasions the unwatchable insanity of what remus could come up with compared to his own worries help calm him down if things got too intense with Virgil's own anxiety. However Remus has also been the side who can get a rise out if Virgil the fastest. I mean did you SEE thomas in WTIT, he was basically just Virgil clutching the control board/silly

Light sidesssss

Patton: Remus just has to fucking appear and Patton is already on edge and ready to grab a puke bucket. He is by far the easiest to distress with the thoughts, but being a seasoned professional at repression is oddly resistant to his own intrusive thoughts. (I've said that too many times.)

Logan: The least affected, and the most shown in cannon so I'm not gonna touch on that more

Roman: His brothers favourite victim, and VERY easy to implant ideas into. Example: The Shrimp Incident
