another unpublished literary work of yours truly... enjoy reading :))
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Finally, Iām here! It took me a woopin 30 minutes of walking under the scorching heat of the sun. My underarms kinda wet from all those walking I did but at last, Iām here. Here in this place where I find peace, the place where my problems fades away, where the wind calms my nerves, the scent of the grass soothes my soul, here in the park.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā I managed to find a perfect place to sit down, a bench shaded by the trees near the walkway where people are jogging at the moment. Fortunately, the cool wind dried my underarms and I was able to write these notes much, err, easier. Inhale... Exhale... Inhale... Exhale... I closed my eyes for a brief moment, the only sound I can hear were the rustling of the wind against the leaves. My mind slowly acts in synch with my heart... as I open my eyes; I remembered what I have to do here.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Problems, all kinds of it, may it be of love, of money or of the whole world, Iāve brought it alongside my paper and pen. I thought that by coming here, Iāll solve my problems, or so I thought. But I guess thatās not going to be easy, and the only thing Iāll be able to bring back home is what we call a āPeace of Mindā. Thinking of it over and over made me realize that it wasnāt a bad thing though.Ā For one to solve their hurdles in life they need a peace of mind, I need a peace of mind. At the peak of my problems, I was beginning to lose against it; it was like the king of the problem world ordered his servants to send so many problems to me I almost felt powerless, I almost gave up, almost let a tear fall from my eyes.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā I stood up, my butt hurts for sitting for an hour, I walked around the park looking at the people around me, listening to the chirping of the birds, feeling the wind slowly makes it way against my skin. Of all the noise I hear around me, my ears stumbled upon the chimes of a certain Ice cream man.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā An old man, tiring his ass out to feed his family was meters away from me. I bought one from him, a gift for myself. We chatted for a few minutes for I found this man somehow interesting. After a few words, we bade goodbyes to each other. I went back to my former spot and finished my Ice cream. After finishing the sweet thing, I threw the garbage into a trash bin on my right side and as I turn to my left, I saw this peculiar sign saying āSMILE and LAUGH more oftenā. A twig fell down from a tree and thatās not the only thing that hit me, a realization too.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā I was so down lately because of my problems not realizing that there are people around me experiencing much more than Iām having, yet they smile while I sulk and while others cry. I was so ashamed for acting that way, it made me realize that I can go thru this struggles, thanks to the old man and a peace of mind.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā I stood up and let out a sigh of relief, never felt relieved for the past few weeks. It was worth the journey of coming here even though I told no one where I was going. Iām now ready to go back, face my problems and smile against it.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā On my way out of the park, I saw the Ice cream man across the road. I decided to thank him and started walking towards him. All of a sudden, a little kid ran across the street towards the Ice cream vendor. Cars zooming from left to right, thereāll be no chance of him surviving the impact... unless... out of nowhere, my instincts told me to rescue the kid, so I did.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Fortunately, the blood didnāt stain my shirt (Iām wearing red today FYI). The kid survived the impact when I pushed him away from the crash. As for me? Well, Iām fine and oh! I almost forgot to introduce myself, Iām Joma and I died on my birthday...
